I can only find covers for the 3rd generation! Amazon had them at one time, but apparently no longer.

AH, I could not locate a cover for the original Kindle on overstock.com. What did you use for a search term?

thinking of getting the lighted cover, but one reviewer states it will not fit a Kindle 1 or 2. I received a Kindle for Christmas 2010, so not sure what generation mine is.

If yours was new, it's probably the kindle 3. My kindle is currently broken, so I can't tell you how to look up your kindle version, but they came out with the kindle 3 in august of 2010.

I have had mine for at least a couple of years. What happened to yours that it doesn't work any more?

I have a beautiful oxblood faux leather cover for the first Kindle. I'd be glad to send it to you if you'd like to buy it real reasonably?? My e-mail address is dquestor@aol.com.

I have a basic black cover, from Amazon, for the second generation Kindle w/ keyboard. Am willing to part with it for the cost of shipping and a cup of coffee if someone can use it.
