I would like to get in touch with mid grade story writers. Do you have your chapter book on Kindle?

P. S. Wright says:
Hey Margaret, if you post this on MOA you'll get LOTS of answers. Yes, I have an MG story on Kindle. But if we link here, Amazon doesn't like it. If you click my profile, you can find my books. Thanks for asking!

Since you asked, I do have a middle grade story just released on Kindle: The Black Stone Prophecy. You can find it by searching for the title. Thanks!

Are you looking for Chapter books or Middle Grade books? Chapter Books would be like Magic Tree House and Middle Grade more like The Lightning Thief.

Also, PS Wright is correct, authors aren't suppose to promote their own book on this forum, even when asked, it's a no-no. Seems weird, but Amazon just wants to make sure things don't get out of hand (which they used to before the rule).

Give is a better idea of the age group and I'm sure we'll have lots of other author's books we can recommend.

Tell me the difference between a chapter book and a Mid Grade .. Can't a mid Grade be a chapter book?

You definitely aren't wrong here--it's just I don't think there's really any official definition and there' s lots of overlap.

It's my understanding that chapter books are more for elementary school aged kids who are past "easy readers"; so that would be something like, 3-5th grade. They are typically under 20,000 words.

Middle Grade books are more 5-8th grade and most are 30,000 words or more.

However, like you say, there's tons of overlap and some people would say longer chapter books are part of the middle grade category. So, there's really no hard rule, it just can be a wide age range and reading level.
