Questing Marilyn: In Search Of My Holy Grail, Personal Growth Through TravelSome good points here. We all learn in our own unique way. New life skills can be learned and self help books are one way to change thinking that leads to changes in belief, ways of relating and new behaviors. Applying what we learn can be a challenge. Choosing who we trust can also be a learning experience. I use stories as a way to be introduced to new thinking and show how the new ideas can be applied in real life situations.

I've been researching what it really takes to live a more happy, flourishing and prosperous life and my favourite books on this include Sonja Lyubomirsky's The How Of Happiness, Martin Seligman's Flourish and Barbara Fredrickson's Positivity.

I have a new workbook that helps you become aware of your life. It is really different than most of the books Ive read and Ive read hundreds. Its not about motivating you to buy more stuff or get a quick fix, but helps you become aware of what you truly desire and where you are and puts a plan in motion to true happiness. I live my life by it and swear by the processes I use. The book is pretty inexpensive and you would be showing some great support by picking one up. It could just change your life too.

Here is the basic formula for happiness, it is Life Explained. You have where you are (self-awareness) and where you are going. You have your goals and you have your motivations. Your motivations keep you going through the ups and the downs. This doesnt just apply to finances but to everything in life and when you look at it from this simple equation, it becomes so much easier and controllable. What do you think? My website is and here is the link to my workbook, the PSAW. I have a 300 page book coming out soon. Polphia Self Awareness Workbook

Asking what is the "best" of anything is subjective. What is it you're seeking? As a writer of self-help books, I am enjoying the banter here as folks list their favorites. But the list fails to answer the question, because it is a question without an answer. If you have lost a child to suicide, look at Blessings in the Mire. If you're looking for self-love, check out Bernie Segal or Leo Buscaglia, and if you're seeking a fresh new age approach look at Deepak Chopra or Wayne Dyer. This is an insufficient list, of course, because the options are endless.
Good luck in your search.

Your Life is a Freaking Mess and You Want Answers

This is a simple self-help book that everyone can recommend to their friends! Having survived a number of freaking messes, it amazes me still that most do not know what to do when you're in the thick of it and you're trying to get out. It's also available in print if you really want to make a statement to an associate.

Greetings. Please forgive this plug. "Feel Good Fables," is a book I published in 2009. It contains many stories from others who have faced adversity's and changed them into opportunities. Because of this format, one of the many stories may be helpful on and given day. Why? There are no "magic pills" to be taken. No one cure-all for the masses. However, each story can be a useful "pill" for that ill.

I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards,

Don Christian Aldrich

John Bryan teaches how to develop your own internal Random Access Memory to use when confronted with a stressful situation. Following the principals outlined in this very readable book, a reader automatically searches their newly developed memory with the speed of a highly developed RAM and pulls up the "affirmations" loaded into your internal RAM, which provide instant guidance to resolve stressful decisions in a positive manner.
