I sent a trade in package last week with two books via USPS because I did not know I had a UPS pick up place in my city. I sold them two more books and shipped those UPS today. The UPS tracking info said it has already shipped today. When I look at the USPS tracking info on the Amazon Website, it says "Shipment Tracking Details Below" and its completely blank. I cant find a tracking number anywhere to check at all. I just was wondering if USPS just does not have any tracking info, or if they are just waiting a week to ship it or something....? I'm just confused

The U.S. Postal Service charges extra for tracking. You have to fill out one of their little green forms to get the service and your number. Tracking comes free with any insurance you might decide to purchase for your shipment as well.

USPS charges $.85 per package. Then you have to go to "Manage Orders" and type in the tracking number from the little lime green bordered slip they give you at the post office, so the customer can get the number to track the package. What's a "trade in package"?

Guys, the OP is talking about sending in a package via the Amazon Trade-In (buyback) program, NOT selling their books through the Market.

Damon, I wish I could help, but each time I've used the program I've shipped UPS. I DO know that USPS scans packages FAR less often, largely due to the higher mail volume. It's not unusual for a package with tracking to show nothing for a while, then suddenly be scanned somewhere halfway through its trip. I'm not sure exactly what services Amazon includes on the USPS labels, but I'm certain DC (and likely insurance) are among them. So, don't worry, it'll get scanned en route at some point. It wouldn't make sense for them not to include some type of tracking, given the nature of the program.
