Books - Not Acceptable

* The ISBN on your trade-in item doesn't match the ISBN listed on the packing slip (or the website)
* Torn, loose, or missing pages
* Cover was in bad condition (torn, water damage etc.)
* Damaged spine
* Water damage (e.g., wavy, discolored or swollen pages)
* Issued with supplemental material such as CD-ROMs but CD-ROMs were not shipped
* Used supplement - access codes for supplemental material were used already
* Study guides and workbooks had answers filled in
* International editions
* Custom or on-demand print editions
* Some loose leaf, ring bound, and spiral bound textbook editions may not be eligible for Trade-In and will be rejected if received
* Marked "Not For Resale" (or is otherwise marked not for sale)

I prefer to buy a used text, the separate ISBN for book only (or rent, in your case) then go buy just the card with the access code NEW, from Amazon (only!) so I don't have to worry about it being used.

It mentions a trade-in (which is different than a book return).
