Hey all :) I posted ealier, so sorry to be so verbose tonight!
I'm an adult, newbie gamer, owner of a Wii and DS, with only 3 prior games for the DS, which I use more often as illness has me confined to bed..those 3 games are CrossworDS, Brain Age(1), and The Women's Murder Club.
Recently, I bought, but didn't open, MY SIMS AGENTS for DS, because I really have some concerns..
(Some games or genres I prefer: Civilization (PC) - wish it was on Wii or DS! - CSI, The Sims (Desert Island) - would love Sims 3; like gameshow and mystery-type games, old Zelda and Mario Bros. - but hate puzzle-only games! *l*)
I didn't realize when I bought my Wii and DS (which are otherwise super!) that I'd have so much trouble finding age-appropriate games for a thirtysomething gal.
Anyway, since the DS has graphic, etc. limitations the Wii doesn't, and as the Wii version of Agents was produced at least partially by a different company than the DS game - I'm wondering what you folks out there would say about gameplay on the DS version?
So far, all 3 of my other DS games have relatively static, unmoving screens.
Take "Women's Murder Club"; the graphics don't immerse you for the entire game, in a moving "world", and that immersion's one of the things I love most about gaming.
Instead, a few scenes flash by, then remain disappointingly static.
Is this the way it works, even in a Sims game like Agents, on the DS, .vs. the Wii?
Also, the plot is dif't between the two dif't versions, I've heard.
Based on my gaming profile, and tastes, can anyone share some observations re: either version of Agents, so I can decide whether or not to open this game and play, or exchange it for the Wii version? ;-)
I'd do that right away given my doubts, but because I'm in bed ill, so often, I'd rather hold on to my DS game if the pros far outweigh the cons/if it holds its own enough against the Wii game.
Finally, does playing DS "Agents" mostly involve solving the "2D" puzzle type and mini games, or is there just as much plot and in-game action as on the Wii?
Thankyou, so much, to all who take time to read and answer this! :)
Happy gaming - Leslie, Canada.
