F. Paul Wilson - also writes urban fantasy but does some medical thrillers.
Josh Bazell - Beat the Reaper and at least one sequel.

If you don't mind a Christian theme to the mystery as well, there are medical mysteries written by Dr. Richard Mabry. I liked Medical Error: Prescription for Trouble Series #2 best.

You might take a look at "Death on a Thin Horse" by Dr Candice Hughes.

Yes, I read that one, too.
I've always been a fan of Robin Cook.

The Hot Zone: A Terrifying True Story by Richard Preston

The Demon in the Freezer: A True Story by Richard Preston

COMA by Robin Cook

These are the three most terrifying books of any genre[but they are all medical thrillers] that I have ever read in my life.

I'm a physician, so my tastes are a bit picky in this category. My favorite is "The Andromeda Strain" by Michael Crichton, because it really started the genre. I was wondering what other novels might pop up in the discussion because I haven't read a medical thriller that really knocked my socks off in a while.
