Check out Guy Cote. He's just released a book called "Long Live the King: Book One of the Charlemagne Saga". Great book!

Gillian Flynn has some good stuff. Dark Places is, well, dark, and has a driving plot as well. Her latest, Gone Girl, is a little more thoughty, but much worth your reading time especially if you feel the plots of the books you've been reading are all beginning to blur a bit.

Try Ben Coes. Vince Flynn recommends him.

I've just discovered Jack Kerley's books and I highly recommend them - infusions of humour without being wacky, plus great turns and twists.

If you do not like the rules, please complain to Amazon; their rules, their playground.

You certainly don't speak for me in saying this is what "we all stand for."
I don't give a d*** about anyone's rights to spam.
I report it to Amazon and am happy to see how often it's deleted.

Freedom of speech and Constitutional rights have very little to do with a corporate entity.

I don't understand how he can speak for all posters.

Not everyone is on the same continent.

It's not what everyone one wants - it's what amazon allows

He has made some pretty sweeping statements - who is montag? who/what is he referring to?

Who has been attacked?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 14, 2012 6:31:48 PM PDT
Cphe,
Montag is one of the lead characters in 'Fahrenheit 451' - involved in the book burnings.
I actually thought things had quited down a bit lately - don't think I've seen any attacks.
But hey, I reserve the right to answer back when somebody starts it!
[I think that's in the playground rules, long as I keep it this side of civil...] ;)

IMO, if people don't want to see reminders of Amazon's TOS, they can always check out Barnes and Noble.

@ Miss M - I just thought he made some pretty sweeping statements.

I also haven't seen anyone attacked on these forums lately.

Certainly nothing like the minefield it was several months ago.

I was thinking that the Thriller forums had a calmer more helping air lately........perhaps I haven't been reading the posts correctly ( LOL)

Indy Ray says:
I just read an Action/Thriller called Death Mode by Thomas Black. It is a fictional novel about John Dillinger's grandson in search of his grandfathers lost loot. It takes place in Southern Indiana. I was attracted to it since I went to school at Indiana University and have always been interested in the gangsters of the mid 20th Century. I thought it might be interesting. I wasn't disappointed. It is available as a Kindle download for only $1.99 so I didn't feel like I was gambling too much. I think it is fun to check out new authors. If you are looking for a quick summer read, check it out.

Angela... thanks for the 'kind' informational post. I'm very sorry for not understanding the posting rules to this forum. Answering a simple question seems to have turned me into a journalistic whore. My bad.

These are not forum rules but Amazon's rules, their rules, their playground and we all have to abide by them.

Not really a thriller, but for a hilarious mystery read The Burglar Who Traded Ted Williams by Lawrence Block

Desmond Cory - there are quite a few of them
