Check first time author Ralph H Perkins. He wrote a Mystery/Thriller titled Treatment. It got some great reviews and I really enjoyed it.

If you are not adverse to SP author's

A Thousand Bridges

I read this and quite enjoyed it, also the author doesn't spam his work so I'm more than happy to recommend.
