Does anyone know if there's a way to post past reviews?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 5, 2011 2:23:42 PM PDT
"past" as in...previously deleted?

Posted on Jul 5, 2011 2:25:27 PM PDT
Past as in previously reviewed prior to connecting Amazon with Facebook.

C. CRADDOCK says:
You can post links to reviews on Facebook. You go to your Amazon profile and copy the link. There is a button at the bottom that says Permalink. Instead of clicking on it, you copy it. Then go on Facebook and Say, "Hey, Everybody on Facebook. Here is a review I wrote a long time ago on Amazon. Four people found it helpful (inside joke relating to a New Yorker cartoon). It is now buried beneath a thousand million other reviews and no one sees it anymore. Which is a shame, because it was brilliant." Then you paste in the link. For a while Facebook wouldn't let you post links because you hadn't written the book or directed the movie. But, this is a REVIEW you'd complain to nobody in particular. Zuckerberg, in his wisdom, heard my bootless cries, and now FB does let you post Amazon review links. Also, they let you pick out the thumbnail image.

Zuckerberg needs to marry or hire you! Either way. Thank YOU so much for your help!!!

Rob says:
I, like most readers, go straight for the 1 star ratings. Perhaps it's paranoia, but I believe the 5 star ratings typically come from a seller or author's friends, relatives or employee (see Discussion: "Amazon - Why Did My Review of My Wife's Book Disappear?"... I am guessing because you claimed to be her husband-against the rules, but there's a conceivable work around, I'm sure). That said, if I were FB friends with the Princess I might be more inclined to consider 5 star rating. Just sayin' ;-)

You may read my reviews by clicking on my name, etc. I think the point is to generate more revenue Amazon, not more friends. But I like your style. :)

For real: I am excited about the new thing here, and I still can't use it. http://www.amazon.com/review/R2C89CW13UHIVV/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm

What the heck, Amazon and Facebook?

J. Edgar Mihelic, go to Your Amazon.com (it might be called: J. Edgar Mihelic's amazon.com) the top of the page. On your left you will see an ad to share your reviews on FB and or Twitter. Does that help?

Nope, no add. Not even after I disabled my add-blocker.

the upper right it should say: "Your Amazon.com"... when you click on that you don't see: "Tap into Your Friends
BETA
Connect to Facebook to get Amazon recommendations for you and discover your friends' Favorites and Likes
(You can disconnect at any time)"
????

Jason says:
I don't have it either and I went through IE which has no way to block adds or scripts.

It is a beta program so not all accounts will be activated (odds are)

edit
checked my account on IE and Firefox. both places do not show any icon for "tap into your friends" BETA.

edit 2
For those who seem to be not be invited into the beta (or account is bugged out) . This will make you feel better

Nope. I've had the connection to facebook for a while now. I actually wrote them several times telling amazon that the current way was useless and a bald attempt to commercialize the info held on your and your friend's facebook pages -- "Molly's birthday is in three days, we think that Molly will like these things based on what Molly likes on here page. Buy them for Molly."

I suggested an interface like the one they say that have that is now in beta, but I am left out. Huxley didn't tell me of that reason why that it was good to be an Alpha.

J. Edgar- I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe soon you'll be able to?
I log on through Google Chrome or Safari. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Jason! How could anyone not forget their troubles with a link like that?

They just don't let me in any of their clubs. On the bright side, I am blowing through some reviews just trying to get it to work.

Jason says:
Don't feel bad J Edgar. I don't alpha or beta test ANYTHING no more.

at least 80% of the stuff I alpha or beta tested failed when it came to computers. Meaning if I somehow got into the Amazon beta... there is only a 20% chance it will be successful. I'm not really a Jinx.. just last few things I've tested however didn't turn out so well

The quote is funny Jason, but I couldn't view the actual cartoon :(

I saw that years ago in the New Yorker. No, I don't subscribe. One of my doctors did. I thought it was hilarious.

Justin G. says:
So I finally had a chance to try this feature, and I have to say I kind of like it. It's no substitute for the "Friends and Interesting People" function, and I couldn't see using it to share every review I write, but I like being able to share specific reviews with my Facebook community with one click.
