Feel No Pain
the one we all need

The Sweetest Gift
like a song for her daughter

By Your Side

Lovers Rock

you got the idea

ok
so the back up band is kinda weak, kenny g horn and lame guitar and keyboard

but the songs are achingly strong and this is just a slight sampling

This is well known but probably one of the most beautiful songs I can
think of: Woman by John Lennon

Used to like Sade a lot, but my tastes have changed. 'Smooth Operator' and 'No Ordinary Love' were my faves (singles I think).

C Scanlon _ I'm sorry but I hate Lover's Rock with a vengeance! :-) However, I submit Train In Vain as a much better alternative. Maybe not exactly obscure, but then who would have expected the Clash to write a love song at all?

Better than either of those... Just Like Honey. Now THAT aches.

The Clash can do anything.

We like to use a certain symbol on this forum to alert others to the fact that the preceding remark was meant to be sarcastic: ~

Ciaran says:
Thats perfect, thank you! I hoped most would pick up on the ironic social commentary in my remark, but there are those that need a clearer symbol!

BTW, where is the OP? And why does he need achingly beautiful love songs? Since we've scrounged some up for him, I think we at least deserve the whole scoop. Did he get caught with the secretary and now needs to make amends to the wife? Or is he simply a wonderfully romantic man looking to make a special mix CD? Inquiring minds want to know.

The Woman In Me by Heart.

Love Alive by Heart.

(Can't help it, I'm a huge Ann Wilson fan.)

Songbird by Fleetwood Mac

Safe In Your Arms by Paula Cole

And this last one isn't actually a love song, but I think it's probably the most achingly beautiful song, out of 3000, that I have on my computer.

Let The Sun Fall Down by Kim Richey

I've heard of a 1957 tune by the Four Esquires called, "Love Me, Love Me Forever". I was born a little over a decade after its release, but first heard it on an oldies radio station as a youthful oldies oficianado in the early 80s. I recently heard it again on You Tube. But nowadays, given the problem with viruses on that site, those who go there can listen to it at their own risk. It's a beautiful song, though.
