To celebrate his 84 birthday this week, recently released in la Havana is a volume titled Apuntes filosoficos for the notebooks of Cdte. Ernesto Guevara.

Amazon is not offering it.
How can I find it?

I thank you really very much, sir, for doing the research; nevertheless this six year old book on economics, available here, interestingly, only in Canadian dollars, not in real money, might not be the book released Thursday in commemoration of his 84th birthday, called Philosophical Notes.

Although they may consider some similar concerns, the "desert island" book list of this author is amazingly broad, and essential reading for everyone.

Well, if it is published in Cuba you will not find it in the US, at least not new. (Used perhaps if someone brings it in and puts it up for sale). You'd be better off looking in Mexico.

Yes, the embargo is likely what is keeping the book out.

There is a small café in Havanna I have visited. Go there, and ask the old blind man in the corner if he has ever seen the tide as high as it was this year. If he says "yes", he will get you your book. If he says "no", I'm sure any other bookstore in Havanna will do :)

Brent, what does DOB mean?

EDIT: Oh.

I would have deleted the post but it always troubles inquiring minds when Amazon says that.

I thought amazon.es might have it (though you've probably thought of that possibility yourself), but no. They have plenty of other books about or by El Che, but not that one. Maybe if you try again in a few weeks they'll have it.

The book's listed at UK amazon, where it's just under £13. If you're not in a mad rush to get it, you might wait a bit & see whether it turns up at Book Depository, which--at least for me (I live in Ireland)--virtually always is cheaper than amazon.uk because there's no charge for shipping.

"GO there."

There is a whole US federal government preventing this.
Or is that over now, at least until mittens moves in.

here is my poem, written after the recent Copa Panamericana in Ciudad Juarez

The Old Man Dreams Dreams
After the XI Copa Panamericana
And Long, Long after Mr. Yeats
(In fact, a parody of WB's ode to Innisfree)

As I'll come up and go now
Or within a year or three
And travel shall I to Cuba
For there I shall be free

And feel our sweet sea mother breathe
As I did e'er I was born
And see the seagull circling
Upon coral air at morn

As we shall plant our beans there
Harvest honey from our bee
As I shall make my peace there
As at last I shall be free
Where, at least, we shall be free.

Anyway, with the polar ice caps in extreme melt down, the tides are higher.
