Well for starters, a couple from Cheers:

Woody: What's shakin' Mr. Peterson?
Norm: All four cheeks and two chins.

Woody: How's it going Mr. Peterson?
Norm: It's a dog eat dog world, and I'm wearing Milk Bone underwear.

One of my favorite lines spoken almost every episode by DENNIS FARINA during his 2 year run on LAW & ORDER as he and his partner looked or went where they were not supposed to, someone would ask, "Are you allowed to do that" and Farina invariably responded, "Don't worry....we're authorized." and proceeded without further interruption.

Hello William A. Hughes,
Simply an excellent series of quotes!!! They not only help you recall the movie but the whole scene and the resonance it carries. Splendid!!

J. Norberg says:
My favorite one-liner is from the mouth of Barney Fife--"Nip it in the bud!"

When he modified that line for his excited, "Nip it! Nip it! Nip it! Nip it!" I was laughing uncontrollably!

Francine says:
Marlon Brando, "On the Waterfront": "I coulda been a contendah" .... Al Pacino, "Scarface": "Say hello to my little frieeend", ....and Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Commando": (holding the guy over the side of a cliff) says, "Remember I said I'll kill you last?" "yeah." "I lied." (and drops him). These are a few of my faves.

Here is a quote from my all time favorite film and considered by many to be in the top ten of greatest films ever made:

"Deliberately buried. Huh! "

I would be thrilled if anyone recognizes the dialog. If not I tell tomorrow.

I like the line Cher's father utters in the movie, "Clueless" when Cher is going out with a boy of whom he disapproves: " Hey You!..Anything happens to my daughter, I got a 45 and a shovel! I doubt anybody would miss you!"

Hello Deborah Earle,
Great quote. It reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite actors, FRED WARD in "Secret Admirer" (1985) where he plays a cop and looks at his daughters date (I am paraphrasing here) and whispers to him, "You touch my daughter and I'll shoot your d*** off!" I am sure both quotes have more resonance with my older son who has two daughters (just ages 2 and 4 now) but tempus fugit!
Regards,
"Rock"

This is in reference to the quote I posted yesterday i.e. :

"Deliberately buried. Huh! "

This is from 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY and is uttered by DR. Heywood Floyd on his way to view the "MONOLITH" discovered on the moon. No doubt too arcane and not strictly in keeping with the theme of this thread. But I thought I'd give it a shot.
Best Wishes,
"Rock"
And speaking of CLUELESS......"as if!"

David Mead says:
From WKRP- "With God as my witness, I swore turkeys could fly" and from the movie A Thousand Clowns- Jason Robards answering the phone with: "Hello, is this someone with good news or money?" I have used that one on my answering machine for twenty years.
