Welcome fellow Posters.
The question is; where did those actors and actresses go after being stars on very popular television shows? One would think with all that popularity they would have landed other gigs of the same quality (or something close) soon after their show was canceled. Instead, many just fall off the map as it were.

I ask that you not turn this into another boring thread of lists, I would rather you mention 1 to 3 people at a time and give us some background and then info on where they are now.....if anywhere. If you have more names and info, you can always post again.

* Tom Cavanagh

The hour-long comedy-drama "Ed" was extremely popular and a "very" funny show, but when it was canceled, Cavanagh just fell off the map; I was rather shocked by that. Like some other TV stars he tried his hand at acting in movies but none worth mentioning. And except for the TV series "Eli Stone" which I thought was really good, he's just been bouncing around on other TV series not worth watching.

* Josh Duhamel

Here is an attractive actor who was on a popular and pretty decent TV series called "Las Vegas" and when it was canceled he pretty much disappeared. Duhamel tried his hand at some insignificant movies, two of which were Transformer" sequels, but other than that, he just guest stars on bad TV shows like "All My Children" and "Fanboy and Chum Chum".

(One wonders if the same thing will happen to Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo) when NCIS is finally canceled?)

* Michael Chiklis

What a huge hit "The Shield" was at the time. One would think Chiklis would have been offered any drama series he wanted. Instead he lands in one lousy movie, one Short, one TV movie and then stars in a poor TV series called "No Ordinary Family". I guess it doesn't pay to be a bad cop. lolol

Hm....Well I don't know??? But a very interesting thread just the same Pumpkin*!!!

I often wonder the same thing!!!...Like the cast of LIPSTICK JUNGLE...I use to <3 that show...*sigh*...But half the time i think these actors land on other primo channels that i don't get!!!

Sometimes they're even switching it up and doing Broadway!!!

I kind of doubt NCIS will be canceled anytime soon but the day "will" come eventually. What movie is Michael Chiklis in?

Cavanagh starred in the short-lived CBS series Love Monkey not long after Ed (about four buddies trying to make it in the record business)...I believe Jason Priestley was one of his co-stars.

Chiklis will be in a new fall CBS series with Dennis Quaid called Vegas...Quaid plays a sheriff and Chiklis plays a gangster.

Duhamel did not 'guest star' on All My Children...he was an established regular there before joining Las Vegas.

Forgot...Cavanagh also played Ranger Smith in the live-action Yogi Bear movie from a few months back.

I remember that one. I watched a few episodes but it just wasn't any good.

re: "Duhamel did not 'guest star' on All My Children...he was an established regular there before joining Las Vegas"

I didn't know that. Too bad he had to go back to a Soap Opera, it must have been rather demeaning for him. I know Vanessa Marcil did so as well but she said in an interview she was really happy being back. Maybe she was just saving face, but hey, she may have meant it.

Foxy Lady! :)

Who played youngest Huxtable sibling Rudy on 'The Cosby Show"

I've heard that she's set to be in a reality show on Oxygen with her boyfriend called 'Keshia and Kaseem'.

*Candace Cameron

Donna Jo 'D.J.' Tanner on 'Full House.'

Cameron married hockey player Valeri Bure at the age of 20, and disappeared from the Hollywood scene.

*Fred Savage

Do you remember the long-running series 'The Wonder Years'

I don't think he's acting career took off! I only recently found out that he was the director of the tv show 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.'

Most of these actor's old shows have been replaced with cheap reality shows because the networks are to greedy to pay for decent programming.

Well unless you went to "public" school, I doubt that's true.

Stevign... Duhamel returned to AMC of his own volition. He was one of many former regulars on the show who came back during the final weeks to give it a fond send-off. He began his career here and was obviously more than happy to come back for a final reprisal of his character.

As for Vanessa Marcil...she's a fan favorite on GH and wanted to come back whenever the opportunity arose. Sadly, she got short-shrifted in her return and was given little to do other than rekindle the feud between her former beaus Sonny and Jax.

re: "Duhamel returned to AMC of his own volition"

But why? Call me cynical but I think he would have been thrilled if he had some really good movie offers and had to decline GH's offer. That being said, I'm happy he's happy and one does have to pay the bills. As for Vanessa, I don't care if she has a job or not, she still has a place waiting for her in my bed anytime.

Hi stevign. Long time and all that. I kind of got lost. With Breaking Bad coming back, and I imagine Justified will follow shortly, I have to find my way back to that other neighborhood you folks created.

Anyway, I stumbled onto this thread. I think that this is the Michael Chiklis movie you were asking about. He is definitely sporting a different look.

Check it out and in the meantime, I hope to find that other website real soon. Seeya!
