It took me two episodes to get into it. For one thing, Martin is NOT the kind of character people have come to expect from Kiefer Sutherland. He does this well, I think. The plot really isn't all that complicated -- basically a savant boy dealing with numbers ala Mercury Rising. Most of the time is spent in handling Jake. In the end, the 'discontinuities' of the universe are put right and everybody goes home with a warm fuzzy. It remains to be seen how long the writers can keep coming up with interesting twists.
