Hi Bittersweet, I'm not grouchy, thanks, just very tired -- I don't get much sleep during Wimbledon fortnight. FYI, I was just pointing out the parameters of the thread because it is useful for people who want to keep track of these things to have the comments in the appropriate thread. If it were up to me, I'd combine the two; the cut-off point seems arbitrary; but as the two are separate, I wouldn't want anyone with a special interest in one area to miss a post because it was in the wrong thread.

We're okay here. Hope you're fine, too. There's no prospect of my leaving my space down under unless there is some dramatic change in my circumstances, but don't worry; the air down here is pure and clear. Even the ash cloud from the Chilean volcano appears to have left us now.

Bay City Blues

The focus of this one-hour drama were the public and private lives of the members of a minor-league baseball team. The cast includes Michael Nouri, Kelly Harmon, Ken Olin and even Sharon Stone. Produced by the people who brought us Hill Street Blues, this series lasted only four episodes.

I am very disappointed that the following shows did not even get a full season:
Three Rivers (CBS drama)
The Whole Truth (ABC drama)

Medic (TV series)

No. of seasons 2
No. of episodes 59

Medic is an American medical drama that aired on NBC beginning in 1954. Medic was television's first doctor drama to focus attention on medical procedures, establishing the style for later medical series.

Hi George,

Another one, eh? You certainly have a lot of favourites, mate! How about this one: "Four More Years ..." :)

Note to anyone not from "Down Under" who may be watching this discussion: that's not a TV show, just a private little joke for George from across the "ditch".

Hi George,

Your reply leaves me wondering whether you do remember ... it was a quote from a countryman of yours, also called George, a few sets of four years ago, and became a popular chant around Eden Park last weekend when the situation to which he referred was reversed. I held off mentioning it until last night, when the problem was fully rectified (at last!). A pity about the League, but I guess we can't win 'em all :) LMAO

Hi Bittersweet,

I'm fine; how are you? My youngest son, who is no doubt the one to whom you refer, is here with me (he was in Palmerston North for a while, but that didn't work out); the eldest is in Cambridge, and the other in Adelaide (South Australia). I also have a daughter, who lives with her mother. All are well, thanks. I don't have any family in Christchurch.
