I love the list, especially 'Blink' & 'The Eleventh Hour'

Here's my list.

1. Blink(Tennant)
2. Night Terrors (Smith)
3. Asylum of the Daleks (Smith)
4. The Girl Who Waited (Smith)
5. Let's Kill Hitler (Smith)
6. The Impossible Astronaut (Smith)
7. A Good Man Goes To War (Smith)
8. Bad Wolf (Eccleston)
9. Human Nature (Tennant)
10. Planet of the Ood (Tennant)

There is a lot of Smith on the list but he makes one hell of a Doctor.

I bought the DVD boxed set of Christopher Ecclestone and David Tennant a few months ago, and plan to indulge very soon. The dark Autumn nights drawing in. The rain tapping against the window, the wind howling down the chimney.Watching David Tennant....... Lovely.

(Bad Wolf was funny, as it sent up Anne Robinson, Trinny and Susannah, and Davina McCall. :)))

JB,

Matt Smith is definitely growing on me. To take over from David Tennant as the next Dr Who was a tough act to follow.
I didn't like Matt at all to begin with, but I've gradually got used to him. In the new series I love the way he delivers the lines 'Who do you think?' and 'Dinosaurs on a spaceship!'
Love it. :)

I agree, Matt Smith is the best when it comes to delivering fun lines like 'Who do you think?' and "Dinosaurs on a spaceship, but I think what separates him from the other doctors is his ability to go from fun to serious or from fun to angry in the blink of an eye. He is freakishly good at playing the doctor.

`Blink' was a bloody brilliant episode. Hands downs the best one...even if it was Doctor light. I still live in hope that one day Sally Sparrow will return as a companion.

HA! That's my EXACT argument for Tennant as the best Doctor. I've grown to appreciate Smith more over the years; however he seems more of a goofball. Tennant is whimsical but also maintains that certain dangerous *spark* that demands respect of the Time Lord (IMO).

Favorite scene from `The Family of Blood' episode....

*****SPOILERS****

"He never raised his voice. That was the worst thing... the fury of the Time Lord... and then we discovered why. Why this Doctor, who had fought with gods and demons, why he had run away from us and hidden. He was being kind... He wrapped my father in unbreakable chains forged in the heart of a dwarf star. He tricked my mother into the event horizon of a collapsing galaxy. To be imprisoned there... forever. He still visits my sister, once a year, every year. I wonder if one day he might forgive her... but there she is. Can you see? He trapped her inside a mirror. Every mirror. If ever you look at your reflection and see something move behind you just for a second, that's her. That's *always* her. As for me, I was suspended in time and the Doctor put me to work standing over the fields of England as their protector. We wanted to live forever. So the Doctor made sure we did."

Yep. Don't mess with Tennant!

Favorite companions...

1-Amelia Pond
2-Donna Noble
3-Rose Tyler
4-Sarah Jane Smith
5-Martha Jones

Brilliant list. I couldn't have made a better one myself. I agree with Amelia Pond at number 1. Her loyalty, passion, drive and overall story line is just brilliant. Although the way they set up the newest companion being a dalek could prove her, when its all said and done, to be a classic companion and hard one to top.

I doubt they'll be able to pay Carry Mulligan enough to play Sparrow again, but I hope they try to because that episode is the epitome of great writing. I have had it permanently saved on my DVR since the first time I saw it, which was a while ago. Wow, what an episode.

Smith is more of a goofball, I agree. But I too think that, that helps when he goes from fun to angry because it's such a dramatic and swift change of emotions. Like during the 'Eleventh Hour' episode when he was talking to the giant eye( forgive me but I forget its name). Smith's Doctor showed how Earth was protected by showing the eye all the but he's kicked before quite bluntly and cockily telling it to run. But in saying that, I agree with your breakdown of Tennant. He was whimsical and did have that dangerous spark that I think definitely aided in creating more drama and tense moments.

Tom Baker is the Best Doctor. But he was before your times.
Leela was the Best Companion. But She was before your times.

I've seen Tom Bakers work in the Doctor Who movie he did. I think it was called Doctor Who: The Shada, but I can't be for certain. He was pretty good.

Shada was a unfinished Show that was completed with a Aged Tom Baker doing Narration for the VHS Tape. Some of the Scenes were used in the Five Doctors Anniversary Show.

That must not have been the one I saw. My memory on the old doctors isn't as good as it should be. I should probably rent the old episodes on netflix.

Donna was a spunky lass... and a nice breath of fresh air after all the previous love sick companions. "Oi, Spaceman!" ADORE her!

Tennant had good companions but never a GREAT one like Amelia. That's my only true complaint with Tennant's run as the Doctor.

Initially I wasn't impressed with Smith. But I have significantly revised that opinion during the last twelve months... heck I even think bow-ties are cool now!

Amy Pond, but by the slimmest of margins.

I was first exposed to Tom Baker's Doctor in the late 1970's on a UHF Channel .
