Get the Bonk games and Ys I&II. They are on the Virtual Console.

And Bloody Wolf
Neutopia 1 and 2
Ninja Spirit

Off the top of my head.

Dragon Spirit too, but that was on NES; however, I think the TG16 version is a direct arcade port.

Also check out Gate of Thunder and Lords of Thunder on Virtual Console (if you like shmups.)

Lords of the Rising Sun was fun too... and military madness :)

I liked the Genesis a lot more at first. But then Mortal Kombat 2 came out and it was just awful.
When I saw it playing on a Super Nintendo I bought one the next day and it became my new console of choice.

I never had an issue with the Genesis version of MK2.

Yeah, I wonder how many kids KNOW the importance of the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge.

Or, I could download some TG-16 games on the VC.

I love Genesis games, but it's got to be the SNES.

Well, there is that but Sega paved the way for systems competing with Nintendo. Let's face it, when a single company monopolized the market that isn't good for us as consumers. Sega broke that monopoly. They also paved the way for games with darker visions and more adult themes.

What? No, just no.

He's right, though.

It's been a long time so maybe I'm remembering this wrong, but I remember it had much worse graphics and the announcer was removed or at least gimped.
Plus, the SNES version had a tag team mode. I loved playing that.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2012 10:28:18 AM PST
SNES MK2 had tag? My god, how I missed out.

Ice King says:
I think it was a secret. You had to hold down the shoulder buttons or something when selecting a character then it let you choose a few to take into the fight. Four, I think.
And it was a primitive version of tag team. I forget if you could tag in and out or if you just played until your current character died then a new one jumped in.

Yeah, it paved the way for DLC.

Yeah, and Sega also brought us the Sega Channel which was a way to download games. There have been other services which let you download games but as far as I know Sega Channel was the first mainstream game download service in the US. At least it was for consoles.

SNES, then Sega CD.

Sega CD was the best thing about owning a Genesis.

SNES vs Dreamcast?

SNES. I hate to upset the many Dreamcast fans here, but some of those games haven't aged very well. That's typical of sixth generation games, regardless of the hardware. Have you tried playing Sonic Adventure recently? Yuck.

It was just an amazing system to have back then, and is really overlooked. Poor Sega...
I miss Working Designs...

I forgot about SEGA channel, man I wish I was born when that thing was out.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2012 10:38:50 AM PST
Yep. Over X-Band I was playing multi-player video games online before it was popular.

Lunar for the Sega CD was the first RPG that made me feel a real connection to the characters. I've tried playing all the re-releases but nothing will ever compare to the first time I played that great game.
