In an interview with the official Playstation France blog, Daniel Maniago today made an interesting comment in regards to potential DLC characters and stages for the upcoming multiplatform title, "Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale." You can check out some screens from the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita fighting game in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from the community manager of SuperBot Entertainment below (via the official Playstation France blog):

Yes, there will be additional characters, as well as other forms of DLC levels.

Stop it. They are going to let me pay more money for characters that probably should have already been in the game! Take my MONEY!!!

Oh well , the game is cheap enough if you are a Vita-PS3 owner, and DLC may be either free or pretty cheap for Plus members at some point.

Will they do a Capcom and put them on the disc?

Anybody else hate DLC? I can't help but feel developers are removing content that should be in the game only to charge extra for it later. This isn't an anti-PS All Stars comment, but a general comment. I think DLC has gotten out of hand, especially when Crapcom is invovled.

No, no one else hates DLC and this is a completely new topic that has never been discussed before. Please go on.

at least this game is offering 20 characters initially on disc. DLC is just icing on the cake for those who really enjoy the game

Well it sucks that additional characters will have to be paid for but it doesn't lower my anticipation for this game. The PS3 version is already a fantastic deal since it comes with the Vita version.

Keller says:
True, though I remember laughing when SFIV had DLC for new character costumes..... I remember when I could unlock those kind of things by beating the game. Now I have to pay for it. Outside the massive DLC Betheseda offers, I can't stand DLC. Too much nickel and diming.

I'd like to see more Marvel, DC, Capcom, MK and Namco characters for sure.

I dunno...throw Deadpool , Batman , Patroklos Alexander, etc... and spice it up.

Why? They're uncool?

FOGE says:
I dont outright hate DLC. I hate what Capcom does or other lousy cash grabs. Rockstar's RDR, Grand Theft Auto and Gearbox's Borderlands are examples of why I love DLC.

Benpachi says:
Most of them are very much uncool, in my opinion. I love the characters from Ratchet & Clank, and I heard Sir Dan from Medievil is in it, but I don't find any of the other characters announced to be remotely interesting...except Big Daddy, who is not a Sony character. I'm sure I'll end up getting this eventually like a good Sonymite, but I just don't think Sony has enough characters for a game like this.
