I was just reading this article about 15 minutes ago. The truly sad part is most people wouldn't care if an NFL player wasn't involved.

30 Brown, Jalil
25 Charles, Jamaal
84 Newsome, Jamar
95 Powe, Jerrell

Well, any murder-suicide involving a famous or semi-famous person would probably be national news.

Pick 34 says:
Man, apparently they had a kid together and he killed himself in front of Romeo (head coach) and Scott (gm) after thanking them for everything they've done for him. This sad, but because of one selfish act their kid is an orphan.

Ed Jones says:
Apparently, they're still going to try to play tomorrow. I don't know how Coach Crennel is going to have his mind on a game after seeing someone shoot themselves.

Sometimes when you're dealing with something awful, you just want to put your head down and do something normal to get your mind off of it.

Nice way to thank him, by making him witness something like that.

I would push it back at least a day to monday night. The players and coaches deserve at least that to deal with what belcher did before they have to play.

Ed Jones says:
Agreed. Monday or Tuesday would be ideal, if they have to play. Ultimately, it's up to the players I guess.

I agree with this.

From what I heard on Sportscenter the Panthers are going to be flying to Kansas tomorrow as schedule.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 1, 2012 1:22:45 PM PST
The players and coaches for the Chiefs collectively decided that the game will take place as scheduled tomorrow.

Which, if it's their decision, is fine.

Crazy.

This same week, 5 years ago, Sean Taylor was shot and killed in a robbery attempt.

I originally read that as KFC Player Involved in murder suicide. Then I thought, whose a KFC Player? Oh no Colonel Sanders, no!

FOGE says:
This is truly sad. It's amazing how someone could work so hard his whole life, become an NFL player, start every game this year and yet reach such a low point in his life. Hearts and prayers are out to family, friends and teammates of all those involved.

Yeah, It's sad also that he seemed to do really well with the children that he worked with. He could have made a real difference in some kids life.

FOGE says:
It doesn't happen to a ton of people percentage wise. And he's very young. I think this was more attributed to off the field events.

Hey says:
He definitely made a difference in own kid's life with this action, that's for sure.

A customer says:
Much like Chris Benoit, I see. What is it with athletes and murder suicides, I wonder.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 1, 2012 5:07:20 PM PST
It's the roids.

AndrewA says:
Yeah it's a real pickle. I agree with DV that if the players and coaches all voted to not change anything about the game time, then I guess its fine. But I still think they're better off having a day or two before playing. I mean, it's not every day that one of your players murders someone and then goes to the stadium to kill himself.
