Hi
I am looking for a headset for PS3 That will cancel out background noise. This is because my PS3 is old and has begun producing a loud fan noise, and after trying everything to stop it, i've resorted to finding a good headset. Is there any you have/Know of that you'd reccommend that would be effective at cancelling out all the background noise? Thanks!

I just bought this headset. While I'm not sure if it's officially a "noise-canceling" headset, I do think it is enough to block out the fan noise from the OP's PS3. This is a GREAT headset, by the way. It works with my PC as well, which I love.

Yeah i was looking at the Pulse Elite, do you think that would cancel out background noise?

For example, can you hear anything when wearing the headset, even in quiet scenes, like e.g cars, screaming kids, anything?
Thanks!

I live in a pretty quiet home and neighborhood, so I'm probably not the one who can make a call like that. Sorry.

Okay, thanks anyway!

My parents bought me the pulse headset for Christmas. I haven't heard anything but good things about them. Plus it comes with an audio jack so I can listen to music on my vita better than with the official ear buds.

Great, just need to decide between them and turtle beach's, leaning towards turtle beach at the moment!

I have a Turtle Beach headset which is pretty good.

I've got the turlebeach earforce X41s, definitely not recommended. Sound more like $20 cheapo cans with low bit-rate mp3s, they don't block external noise (might as well be made from paper), and the microwave massively interferes with them (loud clicks).

The only benefit is that no one else has to hear you gaming, other than that, these supposed surround sound headphones are rather poor.

So i assume most turtle beach headsets will be based on that design. I think I'll just go with the Sony Pulse Elites! Thanks, anyone have these?

the turtle beaches p11 are good. I have had them for about 7 months and still work perfectly.

Nope. They're also perfect for when you're significant other insists on talking to you while gaming. Just smile and nod, you don't hear a thing.

Okay, great, are these the p11's? Been looking around the £100 range!

Do they cancel out noise, EG, in quiet scenes and say there's an ambulance going past or whatever, would you be able to hear that or just the game? Or when you put them on without game sound is there just total silence? Sorry if i'm being too vauge!

On the contrary, I think your questions are a bit too specific. Everyone's gaming setups are different, some in rooms that are more soundproof than others. Some of us have loud kids, pets or whatever else. And some of us live in quieter neighborhoods than others. Your questions are hard to answer because there are so many variables involved.

If noise cancellation is very important to you, I suggest getting a set of phones that feature noise cancellation as one of their main selling points.

Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset the best for you. You barely hear a noise from out side even if you are just wearing it and when you turn the volume up you can't hear any noise from out side.

has noise canceling, great speakers, a little short on battery life depending how long you use it and it not only works on PS3, but on PC also. great for watching movies, listening to music and it also filters TV sounds from voice chat, or you can have both together.

Generally speaking, these headsets connect to the PS3 and not to the TV, correct? I'd like some headsets, wireless or otherwise, for playing games *and* for watching Netflix on my TV.

Correct.

yes, it connects to the PS3, via USB port and it's wireless. you can still hear your games/TV up to 25ft or so away with it as well.
