This movie looks great. Hope it turns out well

I've watched the trailer about 6 times now. I really want to see this movie. The "flood" of zombies is crazy.

I didn't really like it. Other websites have people blowing up about how stupid it looks. It just reminds me of i am legend vampires. I think most people hate that it has thrown out the whole book. I think people were expectign a more faithful adaptation.

Does it look good? I'm... a little on the fence. It was one of the best horror books I've ever read (second only to Bag of Bones), but the movie looks like they took everything that was unique and special about the book and threw it out the window in favor of making it just another Fast-Zombies survival horor flick.

That's another zombie book I really loved. I'm also on the fence about that adamptation, but that could be a case of unfaithful trailer. It's making the movie look way more like a goofy rom-com than the book was.

When I first saw the trailer I thought it looked pretty cool too, but then I read that it's likely going to be PG-13 and now I'm a little worried about it.
As cool as the wave of zombies is, if it's PG-13 they won't actually kill people in any significant way. It will just be the lame cut away at the last moment before they get attacked with maybe some blood splattering against a wall.
But I hope I'm wrong and this is a decent R rated proper zombie movie.

Couple of things I noticed,
1) This should be called I am Legend 2 (Brad Pitt).
2) They are using cell phones through out the entire movie - yeah bs.
3) It looks great, special effects look top notch.
4) You already know he dies at the end.
5) As others said, PG13?!?! What the hell, that's not how you do a zombie movie.

Where are all the I Am Legend comments coming from, anyway?

From Brad Pitt being legend.

From this being a sequel to I Am Legend, apparently. Also, the zombies are Jesus.

That's... There is no Brad Pitt in the book. The book's not a story with a single protagonist. It's a series of interviews with people who survived the Zombie Outbreak. No spoilers, don't worry.

MrFoxhound says:
Eh... Apparently. Since the book's central character is the author interviewing multiple survivors in a documentary format after the event is over. There are no spoilers for the movie to be found in the book. This is typical Hollywood fluff: buy a license and ruin it.

EDIT: Don't be bashful:

DDustiNN says:
Wow, spoiler much? FFS, dude. Not everyone has read the book.

They bought a great title. The opening looks awesome, and Brad Pitt has great screen presence. It's the flood of zombies that looks ridiculous.

PS: I thought the book was dull.

If you're planning on seeing the movie, I suggest reading the book after. I've always found that adaptation disappointment is lessened when I go from the movie back to the source material.

Pretty bad when a TV show (The Walking Dead) will be more mature than a big budget hollywood summer blockbuster.

And I am not seeing this in the movie theaters... PG13 = teen carnival time.

Blu-ray purchase.
