I'm not surprised there's a new COD next year But another Modern Warfare? So it's true infinity Ward doesn't have an ounce of originality.

Not breaking news. Not sure if this hit the VGF but this is from last week. I too am bummed that its Modern Warfare 4. I wanted to see a new series, like Treyarch did with Black Ops.

"So it's true infinity Ward doesn't have an ounce of originality."

No, which is why I'd rather get Treyarch's games instead.

Look at the last few Treyarch games:
World at War = Past
Black Ops = Present-ish
Black Ops 2 = Future

Infinity Ward:
Modern Warfare
Modern Warfare 2...
Modern Warfare 3....
Modern Warfare 4.....

The only good modern warfare release was the first one.

FOGE says:
Ha pretty much. Except Black Ops is past - 1960s - 1980s but still different time zones.

Also
MW1 - 2007
MW2 - 2012
MW3 - 2017

I agree I haven't like modern warfare since the first one.

I hear 80's and think, that was just a... few.... yea... 32 YEARS!?

Yeah... you're right. At least they kind of switch it up a bit more than 5 years apart.

I've played the first two and the first Modern Warfare was a really good ride. The second one was really underwhelming though. I do wish they'd gone for a new start myself because they can definitely make a good FPS.

:( I was surprised. I figured they'd stop with a trilogy.

I was wrong.

Now who would have guess this... A MW4, no way!

The Treyarch and IW CoDs are set in different universes, right?

FOGE says:
I agree. MWs all look about the same. I feel the same way about the 90s. What?! Thats 13 years ago! haha.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 5, 2012 9:48:43 AM PST
have you played MW3?

if it's MW4 I am actually surprised... they made it seem that the story was over

FOGE says:
Im still waiting for MW2 spoiler the villain from MW2 to come back with an eye patch.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 5, 2012 9:49:53 AM PST
I know they had to fight to do modern warfare since the WWII games were such a success and publishers didn't think a "modern" military shooter would bring in the cash.

Oh the irony.

PacinoBully says:
You remember the story line of the games?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 5, 2012 9:51:28 AM PST
FOGE says:
I remember that too and IW was right. Then the next time they asked to do something different Activision didnt trust them again. Thats a big part of why so many of the developers left to form Respawn.

PacinoBully says:
I dont think this is the proper use of irony. At least according to Alanis Morrisette.

FOGE says:
Yeah, I actually enjoyed them for the most part. Thought MW3 had a great story. Im still a little confused as to why Russia invaded Europe though. Never made sense to me.

Or a free ride when you've already paid?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 5, 2012 9:57:16 AM PST
FOGE says:
Really dude?! If you havent played MW3 by now... and besides, that was shown in the commericals on national television during Monday Night Football incessantly.
