There's no limit to the depths of that game (no pun intended!)

They're like little magical treasure chests. I've gotten twin humanities and souls off them before.

Do you get rewards for killing vagrants?

Wow good to see this thread back up.

Anyway, this is great; my Demon's Souls disc cracked and I haven't touched it in a little over a year.

Thank you Sony! Thank you PS+!

Lol, we even talk about Dark Souls in a Demon's Souls thread. It can't be helped!

Those are vagrants. If someone dies and loses a LOT of souls, one may spawn in another player's world. They may also spawn if someone drops really expensive equipment on the ground and leaves it there.

Ohhh...that was really cool. And what makes those little crab-like creatures show up?

That means the host has been cursed by a Gravelord.

You can invade the gravelord to try to kill them as the host if you find their sign. The GL's sign updates every 10-20 seconds at their feet, so if they're moving around a lot it could take some time to find them.

The upper and lower burg and the parish are all linked, so he could be in any of them.

Capt, what were you telling me about the red phantoms of normal enemies (Dark Souls) that I saw in the Undead Parish when someone summoned me to help them with the Gargoyles? There was a huge red knight by the elevator that I'd never seen before.

It's almost a throwback to the old Primeval Demons.

I've still yet to figure out what that 'thing' is that's hanging off the wall in Blighttown...

There are some really messed up critters in the souls series.

Like those creatures in the Painted World... All of them, they're all messed up.

Ugh, definitely the plague babies! That whole level rather. Even those guys with the crow head and the shamans. And how can we forget the ticks. :P

And here I thought it was the plague babies...

That's a pretty disgusting boss battle. I feel like it single handedly gave Demon's Souls an M rating.

I just killed the Adjudicator. Got down to melee range, dodged his attacks, and hit him where it hurt.

The Adj shield is awesome if you are 2-handing your weapon and you just have the shield on your back. It's a free regen-health item for an insignificant weight.

I've never left the ledge above his head. I only drop to the floor when he's dead.

Another side note: I wonder if he's related to Smough? Two big, fat, disgusting bastards.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 21, 2012 9:49:37 AM PST
Yeah I died to him a few times when I was either drinking or when he did a lick on the entire floor I was standing on.

If you:

attack the sword in his gut and circle to the right, you'll never get hit by his attack and eventually he falls down so you can go for his head. his sword never reaches under his left arm unless you're pinned against the wall.

I've always wanted to make a regen character, but never did. The Adj shield stops just short of 100% damage block, doesn't it? I like it otherwise.

On a side note, I don't think I've ever died against that Fattie. I just avoid his tongue whip and pepper him with soul arrow or physical arrows.

On my SL 140 faith build I use either +5 blessed knight sword, great axe, mirdan hammer or great sword.

It's an HP regen build with +5 adj. shield. :D

I killed him your way many times :D

Incidentally, and maybe it's because the weapon is obtained only under certain conditions, I've never seen another character who uses the Istarelle. I've got a SL285 tank and I've fallen in love with my +5 Istarelle with FAI of 70. The R2 attack shoves it overhanded, straight forward directly into the face of your opponent almost like your attempting a javelin throw but their face gets in the way.

(Tower Knight) or...

Kill the archers, then hide in the upper left corner and spam arrows when he swings :)

I've never actually meleed the TK, always killed him from afar.
