Just finished all four seasons of Battlestar Galactica and now I need something new to watch. I have tried Lost twice in the past, and I love it until the third season when they start having those dumb future flashes. I started Mad Men, which I think is very well done, but I find it depressing. Tried Breaking Bad but couldnt really get into it. So recommend me something VGF--it needs to be on Netflix, but that's the only criterion.

The Walking Dead...Game of Thrones...The Wire...Californication...Jericho...

Hard to recommend without knowing everything you've ever watched and liked (or hated).

Falling Skies is pretty decent as well.

Freaks and Geeks! Trust me on this one.

Those are all good suggestions. This might sound cliche, but I like shows where there is some heroism--people overcoming horrible situations and triumphing anyway. That's why I loved BSG and did not like Mad Men.

If you've got plenty of time, I would go with Quantum Leap, Castle, Buffy, or Star Trek: Next Gen. If you're looking for something that isn't as time consuming, Firefly is always a good option.

Sounds like you'd like any of them, if you haven't seen them already, that is. I'll brainstorm some others...

Oh, check out River Monsters...love that show. Because of that I ended up on a three week jungle excursion in SE Asia catching some insane freshwater fish...no lie.

Doctor Who
Being Human
Legend of the Seeker

All three are on Netflix so they should be easy to watch.

If you haven't already seen Star Trek: The Next Generation, I highly recommend that one. In fact, The Next Generation, Deep Space 9, and Voyager are all marathon-worthy, but I'd recommend starting with TNG.

Undeclared. I think it's the best thing Judd Apatow ever did, and that includes Freaks and Geeks and his movies.

Firefly is amazing and short.

It's way too short. Fox needs to have a boot planted far up the backside for killing that show. Esp when you consider how many pieces of garbage existed(and still does) on television.

Possibly my favorite. The way they left off mid season with Otto was just plain crazy!

I actually came in here to recommend Battlestar Gallactica. How about Justified. I find that to be one of the best shows on TV. Or the Sopranos. I've watched that series about 3 times.

I haven't caught up with the current season just yet. I downloaded a few episodes while in Thailand, but have to wait until I get back to get current.

I've been watching Justified off and on...it just doesn't grab me like others, but I always find it entertaining.

You'll trip out. They upped the shock and intensity value immensely, and in my opinion, that's already been pretty high throughout the series.

Hell on Wheels is pretty solid as well. Kept my attention until I ran out of episodes.

If you can sit through the entire 3rd season you might get hooked. It's phenomenal.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 2, 2013 11:24:52 AM PST
I can see that. I think the problem is I'm usually distracted while the episodes play on my other laptop to my right and I just glance over at intervals. I'll start from scratch and give it my full attention soon. They really casted that show well.
