We all know it's for Vita. As people predicted, it's.....a card game.

Eh, no. This is a brand new video.

I don't get this at all. It seems to me that Uncharted is a franchise that's much bigger in the U.S. than in Japan, but these sorts of card games on handhelds are much bigger in Japan than in the U.S.

Is the idea to try to get Japanese people more interested in Uncharted?

I think the idea is to come up with a very low cost game and it uses the Uncharted branding to draw player interest. Think Mario Picross.

Magic The Gathering is bigger in the west, and it was the first CCG that gathered mainstream appeal.
Pokemon came later

Wow, that looks ridiculously unappealing.

That's a good point, though when it comes to these types of games on handhelds, I believe DV has a point.

That's what she said.

I'm not against card games, but nothing in that trailer seemed particularly awesome, nor does the Uncharted IP seem to really lend itself to card-based gameplay. I'll keep an open mind and wait for reviews.

I'm talking about video games with a card game metaphor (like Metal Gear Acid or SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash).

There haven't really been any of these that have been big in the U.S., but some games in that milieu have been quite successful in Japan (the SNK vs. Capcom one had three sequels!)

If the Uncharted card game were actually going to be printed on cardstock, I'd give it a look, but on the Vita (or any other console) no thanks.

This seems like a game made to kill 10 minutes while waiting for someone, somewhere.
It will sell for just a few bucks, after all.

Just curious, have you played any of the Duels of the Planeswalkers games on the 360? Do you still play MTG at all?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 19, 2012 11:19:49 AM PST
I have not played any of the Duel of the Planeswalkers games, they don't really appeal to me. I like to play card games with cards.

I don't really play MtG anymore, since I missed enough sets that buying back in would be more money than I want to pay (I mean, Jace runs about $90 now.)

I played one of the game on the PC and wasn't too thrilled with it.

G-Love says:
Yup, I still play a good bit of Duels of the Planeswalkers on PSN. I just love all the different strategies that you can build your deck around. I just wish they would let you build a deck from scratch with cards from all the decks already in the game.

card game on a gaming system? does not compute. why not just play cards?

That Emu Kid says:
It's difficult to play online or against a computer with real cards...

I don't know man. Being able to use online connectivity to play cards with any one is a pretty cool idea, if you ask me!

Well, this video was released on IGN today. I don't think IGN posted it before.
