But even then, Walmart had 3 Vita games for $40, which included Gravity Rush, Uncharted: GA, and Wipeout 2048.

Technically, they're not "free".

I remember reading that thread but I don't remember the card being that cheap. I really should have paid more attention to that thread!

If you are already a Plus subscriber the cost is zero.

I tried, the second they were posted here and the big titles sold out rather quickly.

UziHorowitz says:
The cost is not zero. You're paying $50/year for this. Why else would you sub to Plus other than these games?

UziHorowitz says:
Yes, good deals sell out, just like that $37 32GB card.

Actually they are, I have been a PS+ subscriber since the beginning and I would continue to be whether they added Vita on or not, so this is just a really nice bonus, completely free.

Umm, how about the 20+ games they have offered for free just this year for the PS3, or the cloud storage, or the early releases...

And I'm the resident Sonymite, and yet I have a HUGE PS+ game backlog.

Who buys a Vita and/or PS3 and don't already own some of the best games for it?

The way i see it is i'm barely buying games for PS3 at this point in the gen, $50 to keep me diverse and with options to play is nothing . Now i get that for Vita under the same umbrella too. Nice.

All that money you spent on plus - just think about it. You could have spent that on physical copies and a bigger hard drive and then you keep it - FOREVER- and you'd have cash left over for a sexy party.

Now you are making zero sense. Are you saying people already own all these games? Because I only own one of them...
And as far as the PS3 games, I probably have triple the value of my membership in free games just this year.

I have paid $30 + $30 + $17 = $77 for three years of plus. that's little more than the price of a new "SINGLE" game $64.94.

No way in heck would I be able to purchase the amount of games that I received from PS+ PS3 and now Vita for under $80. youre crazy!

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 13, 2012 10:01:20 AM PST
Gotta start somewhere.

You either pick the games people want and have many people who already own them or pick less popular games and get blasted for not picking good games.

I think PS+ for the Vita is offering a good selection of games to start off with, I highly doubt everyone already owns all these games.

But I surely wouldn't buy a $250 system just to collect dust and not play the killer apps for it. Gravity Rush may be a little below the radar for some, so it was a good pick, but Uncharted and Wipeout were the launch games you had to buy.
