Not a fan of the Beowulf, honestly. The SOCOM run subsonic and is a very unique and uncommon round, hence the interest.

Also, I don't do much hunting these days, kinda don't like killing animals too much anymore. The same reason I only do catch and release (mostly) when fishing. I left a trail of blood behind in my younger years...now I feel I should lay off.

With that being said, small game is a different story...and deer are just like tall rats with antlers.

I think they're gonna have to keep em in the gun rack or holster for 4 more years!!!

Is that really the only difference in terms?

Who in their right mind would use burst fire? It's fun and a great way to spend ammo at the end of a day at the range, but against unarmored targets it's totally a waste, and you sacrifice accuracy when you could just double tap.

Steel AP-proof plates work, too, but damn are they uncomfortable.

Sometimes I put on my cowboy hat and walk towards the sun with it rested on my shoulder.

Mostly, yes, that's the primary difference. Barrels sub-16" are also part of the classification based on the NFA.

Okay. Should the government then take responsibility for maintaining viable wildlife populations?

Do you eat meat? The kind that you buy in a supermarket or a restaurant?

This. People don't like hunters shooting a "defenseless animal" but have no qualms about them being killed on an industrial scale.

If things get ugly, I will advance from the South while Foge pushes from the North. We should meet somewhere in the middle, I guess around Louisville?

Not to mention all the defenseless tomatoes.

Obviously burst-fire would be "overkill" but a desired mode of fire when engaging multiple targets at medium ranges (50-100 yards) who may be wearing body armor and are all pointing/shooting back at you from behind cover.

For single target engagement or pin-point accurate range fire semi-auto would seem like a good mode of fire.

Full-Auto is for that "oh crap we are being overrun/bunch of baddies in a confined space" mode of fire.

The point being you always want to kill what you shoot (in regards to bad guys). So 3 rounds over 1 to the chest is what I would bet my life on in a hostile engagement.

Against paper semi-auto is all you would need.

Some people set their tree stands up in a certain area after months of scouting the area for signs of the animal they are hunting.

Perfect. Then we can make our way west to stake our claim in the middle of nowhere. Or I ll pick a customer or friend who has a farm. Those guys are practically self-sufficient already.

Not to mention the idea of hunting dangerous game for sport is exactly why we have overpopulation of vegetarian animals and so many natural predators are endangered.

Montana is probably your best bet in terms of overall landmass and population density.

Yep. Also our own expansion pushing them into smaller habitats, limiting their active hunting range significantly.

That Emu Kid says:
And contrary to popular belief, unless you hit an animal directly in the head or heart, they don't just lay down and die. They take off running, and you have to have enough skill to track them if you actually want any reward for your kill.
