I actually only saw two films this whole year: Dark Knight Rises and Avengers. I like DKR the best, but Avengers was a damn good film as well. That said, I still haven't seen, of course, Tarantino's new film, which I've been waiting for ever since it was announced.

Mrs. User says:
The Hobbit
Cloud Atlas
Dark Knight
Avengers
Hunger Games
Brave
Spider-man
Wreck-It Ralph
Anticipated: Les Miserables and Django Unchained. Pretty sure both will be top 10. Sad that Gatsby got postponed!

Skyfall
TDKR
The Avengers
Spider-Man
Hunger Games
The Bourne Legacy
The Raid: Redemption

Sadly, I haven't seen many movies that came out this year. I expect to add Flight, The Hobbit, Django Unchained, and perhaps Cloud Atlas to the list once I see them.

I'll have to wait until I've seen The Hobbit and Django Unchained. Pretty good chance they'll both be up there.

[G.H.O.S.T.] says:
1. The Avengers
2. The Amazing Spider-Man

That's all the 2012 movies I've seen. I gotta get on my Dark Knight Rises.

C.W. says:
1. The Dark Knight Rises
2. Moonrise Kingdom
3. Cloud Atlas
4. Prometheus
5. Skyfall
6. The Avengers
7. The Secret World of Arrietty

Those are the ones I've seen in my personal favorites order. I left three spaces for Lincoln, Django Unchained, and Wreck-It-Ralph, which I know I will like when I get around to seeing them.

new Tron says:
In no particular order

Lincoln
Moonrise Kingdom
Cabin in the Woods
The Raid: Redemption
The Dark Knight Rises
Prometheus
The Master
Looper
Argo
Dredd 3D

Haven't seen The Hobbit, Django Unchained or Zero Dark Thirty yet, but those have potential to crack into my list.

2012 was an excellent movie year...one of the best I can remember for a long time. There's really good movies like Flight, Wreck It Ralph, Skyfall, and others that I left off this list because I could only list 10.

I have no idea what you just wrote.

Movies are awesome and even though you don't like movies, which is odd because most TV shows are drivel, you chose Hunger Games as your one choice. Not a bad movie but if I was only going to see ONE movie released in ALL of 2012 it would probably not be that one.

Can't name ten.

For me, I have:

1.) The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
2.) Skyfall
3.) Cloud Atlas
4.) The Dark Knight Rises
5.) Moonrise Kingdom
6.) Prometheus

...And then everything else. I've seen more than just these six movies this year, but those are the six that stick out the most to me from this year. I haven't seen Lincoln and Argo, but those were on my list. I'll probably just wait until they come out on Blu-ray. All in all, a pretty excellent year for movies in my opinion.

I said MOST of the time, citing Bond as my example.

I don't really know if most people who go to theaters are casuals or hardcores. I borderline hardocore because I love good movies, but I also love good video games.
