It was hinted before, but now it's official: this is Dragonborn, the first piece of DLC for Bethesda's open-world RPG Skyrim.

"...the first piece of DLC for Bethesda's open-world RPG Skyrim."

Uhm...What? First piece?

EDIT: They edited the article shortly after to say "3rd piece". 4 people commented on it immediately correcting them.

I saw a few things, getting on a dragon and riding it?, awesome new destinations, and cool new enemies.

Will this be in the world of Skyrim? Or something like SI? And I will expect a early 2013 release for PC users, if not late Dec.

I noticed that immediately upon posting. Decided to leave for posterity. :)

Can't say I'm too surprised coming from Jason Schreier.

I noticed boats that actually move. That's new.

Does it take longer to get on the PC? Because the timed exclusivity is over now so xbox and PC shoudl get it at the sametime unless there is something else that prevents that.

Was there a time frame given for a release? Sorry...can't watch the video for another 5 hours or so.

I thought that the timed exclusivity wasn't timebombed itself but was inclusive to all DLC for Skyrim. I could be wrong, however. Since I have it on PC, I don't have to live with bated breath for new content.

Time exclusivity, it should be on PC when that time ends. Same as Daft said - I can just download new mods for new content if I need be. :P

1600 Microsoft Moon Dollars.

If you bought Skyrim at Launch and bought all of the DLC for full price, after Dragonborn you will have paid $60 for the game ($150 for the CE), $20 for Dawnguard, $5 for Hearthfire, and $20 for Dragonborn for a grand total of $105 (or $195).

Anybody else waiting for the GotY edition?

I don't know why but that made crack up.

WesCyde says:
I read there is no more timed exclusivity for Skyrim DLC it only applied to the first two.

Did it say anything about a PS3 release?

Yeah, he left that part out. It says, "LOLOLOLOLOLOL!"

"Anybody else waiting for the GotY edition?"

I bought the launch copy and I'll wait for the GOTY to hit $20 to play the DLC. That way I can have my cake and eat it too.

WesCyde says:
Hell no we are not getting it and thats why Best buy is getting my copy since they have 100% trade in.

DVvM says:
I would not expect any future Skyrim DLC to come out on the PS3 before Dawnguard comes out on the PS3.

Apparently the problem is not in getting the specific DLC to work with the PS3 version of Skyrim, it's getting DLC to work at all on the PS3 version of Skyrim.

M. Stifler says:
Nope, I'd rather get it than wait two years (or a year and a half).

I honestly would not care as long as it worked and it came out in the order its suppose to it would still give me time to beat one and play another etc. I dont get how you can make the game but not the DLC oblivion was just fine why is skyrim such a big deal.

Also just saw on my twitter feed "upgrade to the creation kit (compatible with 1.8) up on steam, not sure if that means anything to you PC folk just thought i would put it in there

DVvM says:
It's a "the PS3 doesn't have enough memory" problem. Oblivion was a much less resource intensive game (it came out over six years ago) than Skyrim.

The Xbox 360 skates by just barely because it's memory is dual purpose (either system or graphics) and because the operating system (which is always running) has a small footprint. The PS3 runs into trouble because is memory is dedicated (half for graphics, half for system) and the OS has a comparatively large footprint.

This does sort of go to show why "lack of memory" is the bottleneck that's driving the transition to the next generation.
