It was released in five episodes, from April to November. PS+ is a paid subscription (after a trial) that many of us don't want to shell out $$ for. Xbox Live charge is 400 per episode, or 2000 points ($25) for the series. I want the option to re-sell games when I'm finished playing them; I can't stand digital content b/c I want to profit off the game once I'm finished playing it. I'm not one who plays through a game more than once (although from what I'm reading, this one may be among the rare exceptions) and, more importantly, what does the game do for me sitting on my shelf after I've completed it?

Yep, finished all 5, like I said, if you actually go in to look at the achievements where you can read the discriptions for each of them it shows all 40 earned and the entire 500 gamerscore but once you back out of it it just says 32 of 40 earned with a gamerscore of 400.

"I'm sure multiple playthroughs will expose the linear nature of this game but I'm ok with that."

I have no doubt of that. There were only like 2 options for endings that I can tell so while the middle episodes seemed to have many relevant choices the later episodes narrowed you back down to an ending that can't really be changed.

That said, it was a hell of a ride and one of the best games that I played all year but I am not sure I will go through it again.

Did you finish all five episodes? It appears like you are just missing all achievements from the last one. That's exactly where I stand, by the way.

Anyone know if the CE book has any type of special cover? Or is it just the same cover that came with the regular book?

try to recover your profile. if the achievement is unlocked and recognized at xbox it will fix it and if its not on file it will remove it so you can reclaim it (re-earn it).

For some reason it says I only have 32 of 40 achievements and 400 out of 500 gamerscore however when I actually go into it to look it shows that I have all achievements unlocked.

my ep. 4 trophies are present & accounted 4 ... still haven't played ep. 5 ... I think I'll load it this weekend. I would have never tried this game were it not for the + 2 episodes - sold me, as soon as I finished I snagged the seasons pass - as the game is unplayable without ep 1 as it's considered the core game, & the others are add ons, was the best way to go ... for me, I was too engrossed to hope & wait they'd give all 5 episodes for free with plus - maybe when the 2nd season launches ...easily one of my fav. games this year ... certainly one of the most engaging stories.

They seriously need to fix the episode 4 achievements!

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 28, 2012 9:04:46 AM PST
After giving it some time I'm gonna play it again and try all new choices and see where the differences are and if it changes any of my emotional responses towards the game.

I'm sure multiple playthroughs will expose the linear nature of this game but I'm ok with that.

Activision is making a FPS version.

I'm seriously considering buying this (or asking for christmas), I already know the whole story but I think it would be great to have a physical copy that I can share with others.

If it's just that you don't find zombies scary I don't think that's an issue with this game as it's not just a zombie mode or trying to be a survival and/or horror game. It's really more like a good zombie movie in that it's not really about zombies but about humanity.

As you said not every game is for everyone but they've definitely found something interesting and unique among games.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 28, 2012 7:16:23 AM PST
oh? Hmmm... perhaps I will give it a try one day. When I have more free time and not a giant back log of things to play.

I just don't like Zombies as much as the rest of the world does so I tend to avoid zombie games. Not to say I don't love horror games, I just don't find zombies scary.. or amazing... they are just there. (DIRT 3 DID NOT NEED A ZOMBIE MODE)

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 28, 2012 7:10:12 AM PST
I'd still say that the game is worth checking out on the merits of it's a great old school adventure game and it's well written. The fact that it has zombies in it is almost incidental as it's really a game about character interaction and tough decisions.
