Wait until the sequels, my friend.

Same as vol Tron. Saw it in the theater and loved it.

Incredible movie. My favorite film of last year. Not as good as the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, but still more magical a movie experience than practically anything else out there.

Liked it a lot. Waiting for the extended edition later this year myself, as enough is never enough with me. Liked LOTR better, but this is only the first of the trilogy.

I totally saw the journey coming.

Good to hear. I watched a clip on Youtube and I'm excited. I hear the dwarves add more comedic elements to the film.

In real life, dwarves add more comedic elements to everything.

You should have gotten both.

It's about what I expected.

Saw it in theaters in high framerate. The presentation was beyond incredible (HFR truly is the an amazing way to watch a movie, and I hope it catches on). The movie itself was pretty good, but a mere shadow of what LotR was.

Not necessarily a shadow of what Fellowship was though. Set side by side, Fellowship probably wins based on the mood and setting, but I dont think it was a huge step up from the Hobbit. Both were story development movies.

I loved every bit of it .. the only thing I regret is waiting for the next one!

I know that this is a joke, but if you were serious:

He impulse bought it.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey>The Avengers=The Lorax=The Hunger Games

The latter three are decent time wasters, while the former is a work of art.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 19, 2013 8:29:12 PM PDT
I enjoyed The Avengers and The Hunger Games quite a bit, but The Lorax was just painful to watch, and I love animated films.

Same here, The Lorax is just OKAY, the only reason why it has a huge fanbase is because of the Onceler.

Since you were a good sport I'll add that I absolutely loved the movie. Thought it was beautifully made and did a great job of adding more gravity to what was a very light-hearted story. All of the backstory stuff with the dwarves was a very welcome addition to the source material. A lot of the complainers need to get over the fact that it isn't the Lord of the Rings, and it isn't trying to be.
