Nintendo should allow the Gamepad to sleep. Can it? I think it should be able to go into sleep mode, like a cell phone, turn the screen off. Of course you wouldn't want this during a game, but when watching Hulu Plus or something, the second screen isn't useful the whole time. I wouldn't mind having to press the button to wake it up, when I wanted to use it during Hulu Plus.
The battery life isn't so great on this thing, so if you use it all up watching TV, there won't be any left to play video games with.
