Haha, this just made me LOL; I would love to be there to see how many people running outside their house thinking "this is it"! Then maybe not so funny if it really is it!

KUSA - Cheeky or coincidence? Either way, the timing of scheduled city testing is sure to alarm those in the metro area Friday.

Denver's Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security will be testing the city's new outdoor warning sirens on Friday, December 21, 2012. A date ingrained in many as the possible end of the world.

"There are 56 new sirens and 21 upgraded sirens providing better coverage across Denver," the City of Denver said in a statement. "The additional testing will be conducted throughout the day, in various locations to ensure optimal coverage and performance."

For those wondering about the poorly-timed date of testing the city has the following reassurement:

"If you hear an outdoor warning siren in Denver tomorrow, it is a test, not the end of the world ;)"

Trolling on a city-wide level.

That's awesome. Someone has a good sense of humor.

Oh lovely and they are going to be ringing bells there as well 26 times for the CT shootings! Should be an interesting day in Denver with these 2 happenings!

My 16 year-old daughter just walked into my bedroom and asked "mom, did you hear about the sirens going off tomorrow?" This is the first I heard of this test; I watch underground television, so I hadn't heard of this. Thank God she said something, because that would've scared the crap out of me!!!! I am laughing with you, Greg, FROM DENVER!

So what if the world actually ends but everyone ignores the sirens?

That would suck.

Well considering we're here alive on Friday the 21st I guess that means no end of the world, kind of sucks a little since I have to go into work then.

I think it's currently scheduled to end right as you are punching out from work, so that you can have the full effect of despair.

If it did truly sound like horns that would be the best prank ever. People may even start killing themselves ala War of the Worlds!!!!

Good, they should do it then and decrease the worlds surplus, religious population!

Not to mention stupid people in general. Darwinism at a city wide level.

The ones who are likely to off themselves probably aren't the religious people you were gunning for.
