I really liked Casino Royals but it seemed as if something was missing from Quantum of Solace. Hopefully Skyfall is worthy.

I went to the movies early today and saw the man with the iron fists. Skyfall is a bit too long dint have the time to watch it.

Did you like The Man With the Iron Fist's?.

@ Jason

Same here. Really liked Casino Royale, but Quantum of Solace was kinda meh to me. Been hearing good things about Skyfall.

@Jason: I thought the same thing, but that was becasue There was a few years break between CR and QoS. If you go watch them back to back, QoS becomes a better movie as it's an actual sequel to CR.

Skyfall, I watched on it's release day, is another in a line of amazing films. I really hope that Daniel Craig Continues his work as James Bond.

Skyfall has no real relation to CR or QoS, other than it's a bond film.

I liked Skyfall. The climax of the film is superbly done, IMO. Another strong entry into the Bond franchise.

Anyone else think Skyfall was the bee's knees?

I'm a big fan of the Bond franchise, loved Casino Royale and thought Quantum was pretty dull. I saw Skyfall last weekend and it ranks right up there with the best in the series, for me. Not just a great Bond movie, but one of the best action movies I've seen in a while.

I enjoyed it but still think Casino Royale was better. Javier Bardem was pretty freaking great as the villian though.

Most definitely. I was quite nervous going in to the movie knowing that Q would be back. (I was afraid of ridiculous gadgetry.) It was handled very well.

The movie, on a whole, was great. It was cool seeing plot elements from prior Bond films blended up and mixed into this one. (Goldeneye, You Only Live Twice, OHMSS, etc.) Easily one of the best. Although, I still think Casino Royale is Craig's best (I may be a bit partial to it because of my love for the book), however this is a close second.

I love the book, also. I was so excited when they announced that Craig's first outing as Bond would be a Fleming title.

I think Skyfall felt a bit more ambitious than Casino Royale. Does that make it a better movie? Not necessarily, but Skyfall felt like a great mix of old Bond and new. I hope future writers and directors use it as a formula for future Bond films.

I'll check it out on blu-ray. The Daniel Craig movies are entertaining for sure, but they are not really James Bond films. More like The Bond Identity, which is ok, but I miss the fun and campiness of James Bond.

Saw Skyfall on opening night and.... I'm a bit disappointed. I know a lot of people like this movie but something felt a bit off - not the least of which was the villain. I'm a huge fan of the Connery/Moore and previous Daniel Craig entries in the Bond series but Skyfall didn't stack up. I was on some heavy duty pain killers from a back injury though so maybe that had something to do with it.

I think it may be the best Bond movie ever. It had a lot of great nods to the older movies. Def worth checking out. Jarvier was incredibly good in the movie.

The husband and I both really enjoyed the movied, especially some of the nods to the previous Bond installments... definitely worth seeing at least in my view :)

Forgot I even started this thread. Hopefully will go this weekend.

Anybody hear that the movie made 87 million dollars in it's opening weekend? Amazing.

LiLTweaky says:
Quantom of Solace was made during the writers' strike. The director and Craig literally had to fill in the blanks on that one. That's why it wasn't as good.

I saw Skyfall last night in IMAX. Was the best Bond film I've ever seen. I didn't think you could top Casino Royal, but they did. Javier Bardem killed it.
