Yeah, I just edited my post.

I even had to tell my friend that Sonic and Mario were rivals from 1991-2001, to explain why Sonic was not in the original Super Smash Bros.

Yes, I went to college in Massachusetts.

Hey says:
And it still feels super weird for me to see Sonic on non Sega systems. It's just what you learned in the day, I guess.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 6:42:47 PM PST
I can see why.

I prefer the Genesis Sonic games to most modern platformers, sans the Mario Galaxy games.

DVvM says:
I have some friends that are big time beer snobs.

I think it's cute.

That reminds me. Wine snobs are THE WORST. I know a lot about wine because I waited tables and bartended my way through college/grad school, but I don't understand people who make a federal issue out of it.

Hey says:
I've played all of the Sonic games from the era. I loved them back in the day when I was a kid but nowadays.... eh. They don't do it for me anymore. The Mario games actually changed as they went from game to game while Sonic seemed to just be mission pack sequels.

revisiting this thread I realized upon seeing what an obnoxious and annoying the sailor moon sounds... because he's basically acting like a hipster but for games... I hate oldschool hipsters

people who are like old music/movies/games etc are better than the crap that is released today, and act all high and mighty that they know that x is a remake or y is an inspiration of this band or that z is a total ripoff if this old and better movie

yeah we get it, stop acting like a total dbag

Sonic 2>Super Mario World>Sonic 3 and Knuckles>Super Mario Bros. 3> Super Mario 64> Sonic the Hedgehog

Hey says:
Sonic 2 over Mario World?! Not even in the same ballpark! Mario World has surprises. Sonic 2 is the same the entire time!

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 7:04:48 PM PST
Well, Sonic 2 is my favorite game of all time.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 7:11:09 PM PST
Hey says:
Why? I'm honestly curious.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 7:14:16 PM PST
The great level design, a good story (for a 2-D platformer), Super Sonic, and the excellent music.

Hey says:
What story? They never bring the story up in the game. I mean, Sonic 2 is a decent game but I dunno, I can't see it in the top 100 even for me.

Dr. Robotnik (Eggman) is capturing animals on West Side Island ans is using them as slaves to build his (then) most powerful creation, the Death Egg.

Miles Prower, a two-tailed fox, sees Sonic running and decides to follow him. Sonic befriends Tails, and two begin adventuring, soon, they discover Robotnik's plot for world domination.

Hey says:
That's the ENTIRE story though and I don't remember them ever covering it in the game. I'm of the opinion that if we count a story as a plus for a game, it should actually appear in the game, not the manual or other materials.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 7:26:52 PM PST
A story is just the motivation for a game like Sonic, Mario, Donkey Kong, and Mega Man.

The story for Mega Man 3 appeared in the manual.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 7:28:18 PM PST
Hey says:
And I don't think the story for Mega Man 3 should count either. All I knew about it as a kid was "Shoot robots. Get powers."

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 7:29:22 PM PST
Yeah, a story is not the most important thing in a platformer.

But for Final Fantasy? Yes, it is.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 7:31:24 PM PST
Hey says:
But that story is covered in game.

I don't drink, and I feel that I have no intention to ever drink. I'm with you.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 7:32:27 PM PST
I know. Look, I don't want to argue.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2013 7:33:54 PM PST
I'm not even old enough to drink, but when I am old enough, I won't go to a bar, but I might buy beer from the grocery store. I won't become an alcoholic.

Dukeshire says:
You won't become an alcoholic if you drink. You can enjoy beer in moderation.

I love beer, and enjoy it with movies as I have a movie night with beer once a week. That is all. Bars aren't all they are cracked up to be. I like going with my wife and buddies here and there but my partying days are long done.
