Tallahassee thought it was hard enough to get a Twinkie already.

I'm partying with some Twinkies and Fruit Pies tonight.

Jawwaad says:
I wonder if the government will bail them out. Twinkies are an American icon

A lot of unemployed people because they went on strike. Instead of the company taking huge losses; they just closed the company. I bet those now unemployed people feel great without a job.

JJ4prez says:
So are fat people, this is a must!

Side note: With this article coming from Fox News, I'm surprised they didn't spin it as an Obama conspiracy to get rid of unhealthy snacks.

No more Twinkies? It's not really a big deal, but that's incredibly surprising. Twinkies are an American icon that can never die. I have an overhanging sense of dread. Maybe the world really is ending... Because there's no Twinkies!

Iso says:
They closed the company since they have been failing for a while.

The union just basically hung the company with the same rope it was dragging it down with.

I'm inclined to believe in the claims of mismanagement because, "We're just Hostess, we can't make money in this economy!" sounds like a flat-out lie.

To be honest, it sounds like a business I would not like to be in either. Seems competition is stiff, hell I cannot remember the last time I bought a Hostess anything...

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 16, 2012 8:33:25 AM PST
McAwesomeo says:
I don't like them, but a post apocalypse without the food equivalent of a roach is no post apocalypse for me.

Pepperidge Farm is the best bread.

Soulshine says:
Yeah, I definitely agree about the increase in competition. I remember that the bread aisle was much smaller when I was a kid. And thinking about it, I rarely buy Hostess products myself.

It just seemed like doughnuts, snack cakes, and bread would be recession-proof.
