Is possible to just buy one month access to Xbox Live Gold? I want to try it out before putting down more money for a longer commitment. Thanks

Beau H. says:
Yes; it costs $7.99, I think. You can do it directly from your console.

Yeah, it's like $7.99.

No other way of doing it? I don't want the console keeping my credit card information. It's my understanding that you can't tell it to forget the information and even if you format the system the information still stays.

You can buy a pre-paid card, right? Then your console never gets your credit info.

Ha! I had no idea they still had 1 month pre-paid cards. All I've seen recently is either 3 month or 12 month.

Thanks. Will try and see if it's doable from Xbox.com.

you can try it for 24 or 48 hours for free. there are cards (within game cases) that give you that in MANY new games that they know will be big sellers for online playing.

Oh I forgot about those, I have a 48 hour one for Gears 3, if Neostar wants it, he can have it.

I totally broke down and bought 12 month off ebay this morning for $35.

I know I said I was going for a 3 month and stickin the finger to xbox live but damn... 3 month for $25 or 12 month for $35? kinda no brainer.

Edit: deal dead now. :(

check the date on it. they expire pretty quickly now-a-days.

I'm looking at it right now and I don't see anywhere stating an expiration date.

Thanks. Didn't know about the 48 hours code. Will check and see if the game I'm getting comes with it.
