I've been hooked on the muliplayer (when I can find a match), because there's a game variant called playground that consist of:

King - In which one person is the king, and all other racers try to crash into him to become the king in closed enviromments - so can't run very far.

Cat and Mouse - where there's a randomly chosen slow car for each team, while all other racers get 2 classes higher. Mouses job is to cross the finish line, and the cats are supposed to try and protect or stop the other mouse.

Infected - Point is to avoid be crashed into (like King), but the winner is that who stays avoid becoming infected in a small enviroment.

It's a shame more people are playing online, it's so much fun.

Cool, I'll send an invite...

yeah regular races are not all that special. The party is at the play ground, you take your customized cars online.

Good to hear you are liking it Marv. I'm ashamed to say mine is still in the wrapper :(

I should have some folk out of my house in a few days and reclaim my gaming area and fire this up.

Its Forza, it is ONLY on Xbox , silly :P

I actually have people from out of town sleeping down in my mancave, so by a certain time i have to dip off and let them crash.

A few more days and i'll reclaim my space. lol

I play it every now and again. I heard that the Rally Pack is out so I should check that out soon.

On a related note, can anyone recommend a good racing wheel for the Xbox? A lot of the ones on Amazon have mediocre reviews...

The biggest shame to ever grace the Xbox 360 (outside of RROD) was a lack of quality wheels on offer IMHO. Such a great racing franchise and such crappy options.

I use the long discontinued Microsoft Racing one which is decent, but tend to use the controller more often than not.

I bought it for $15 on Black Friday and liked it but gamestop was offering crazy trade in value for it of $38 so with plenty of other games to play I flipped it. Had not played online with it while I had it, but those modes sound ripped from dirt 3 infected and cat and mouse were even called the same thing.

Makes sense since a large part of Playground Games is made up of Code Masters devs who worked on Dirt, etc..

Traded mine to Gamestop when they had promotion. Waiting for price to drop.

I'm loving this game, but I don't have a Gold membership, so I don't play online.

Single player is really fun, though. I can understand the complaints about a lack of cars, but I love being able to just drive the cars around and find stuff. If I want a simulator type of experience, I can always pop in Forza 4.

Ah, that sucks. It's strange that USB racing wheels like the Logitech G27 isn't supported by the Xbox. It would've been nice to have with Forza. I guess I'll just stick to the controller. Maybe next gen.

Lack of Cars? if you wanna see lack of cars play NFS:MW

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 28, 2012 9:04:06 AM PST
That Emu Kid says:
That's kind of expected in a NFS game, though. Forza is Microsoft's answer to Gran Turismo, and despite Horizon being an offshoot, it still features the Forza name and carries that weight with it.
