K Archer says:
Its fun replaying those games.

They also play a LOT better (well, at least DA:O does; only played DA2 on the PS3) on the PC. So its just a lot more FUN.

And come on...you can always make new characters, then later on use the old ones when you get the game on the next-gen console

Anthony says:
they are obviously made up elven names. Kermit, however, is a whole other thing entirely.

DVvM says:
It's a normal human name for a human who was supposed to be a super nice guy and kind of a dork. What's wrong with it? Real people have this name, it's just old-fashioned and thus uncommon.

Also, Aenys Amell was human, and a jerk. The elf-mage surname is Surana.

Kermit isn't actually that unusual in some other cultures.

DVvM says:
How is Kermit not a normal name?

Are these people somehow not real?

There's Kermits out there! Most of them are not frogs.

Sure, it's an unusual name, but how often do you find people named Morrigan, Leliana, Alistair, Anders, Bethany, Carver, Gamlen, Leandra, etc.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 4:31:06 AM PST
To be fair, the others are really good, creative fantasy sounding names.

You used the names Mallory and Malena for Mass Effect as well. Are those your go-to RPG character name?

Well there was that guy in Norway named Anders...

And I would say that Bethany is probably more common than Kermit.

RJMacReady says:
Will they be making a Wii U version, I wonder?

or is the technology too last gen?

Legitimate question. Not trolling.

DA2 plays the same as DA:O on PC.

Kermit is a fine name DVvM. You have inspired me.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It was like, "wow, those are pretty imaginitive names." Then, when I got down to Kermit, I about spit out my coffee literally. After a coughing fit of it going down the wrong pipe, I now have to rethink character names.

It's unfortunate that we cannot rename our party members. Then, Kermit could at last get a piece of bacon from Mrs. Piggy.

Back to OP. I, for one, am glad that they are doing it on the next gen systems. Stronger hardware, and most likely being built on a brand new engine because using different hardware, gives the DA team more resources. Plus, it won't be rushed by EA as much so we might get what I would like to consider as the full DA experience. More time to build=hopefully more stuff built/better stuff built. Seeing as how I'm going on PC, all of this means that my game won't be held back by hardware that is several years old.

People still care about this series after how bad the second one was?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 5:01:43 AM PST
Heh, wait till DV sees that!

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 5:03:35 AM PST
Well in fairness I didn't like either one, but all the folks i know that loved DA1 HATED DA2.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 5:05:03 AM PST
I still have yet to finish the first DA. It just got so boring toward the middle of the game, I just couldn't push myself to finish it.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 5:05:42 AM PST
The second one wasn't bad, it just failed to meet many people's expectations after Origins. If it had not had the words Dragon Age in the title, many would have loved it other than the complaints of re-using environments. It's just that many of us had such lofty expectations of this game because of the first that it left a bad taste in the mouth.

that's where is topped playing it.

Stupid Dwarf city...

It was soon after that Ir realized I Just don't like Bioware RPGs

EDIT: I have played the second one as well, even with my biases, it didn't feel like a DA game, and it wasn't really fun. I will now sum up the plot of what I played of both (no spoilers)
DA1: Dragon's are back, the spawn (That's what they were called right?) are wrecking havok and the grey wardens must take action to protect the land!
DA2: (In a whiny kid voice)...They took our house and our money and we want it baaaaaack
