I haven't taken a look at the link, but considering what gorns were like in TOS, I can only imagine they made them less lame.

i would applaude "less lame". i can't get past "totally different from either version of Gorn already in canon".

or maybe i can, if the game's good enough. :)

To be fair, this is a new canon...

Maybe the Gorn get the same disease Klingons get between original ST to ST: TNG

is it sad that i actually know what you're talking about?

and it reminds me of something i read the other day. originally, on TNG, the ferengis were going to be the main bad guys. the ****ing ferengis, lol.

don't get me started. i LOVED the original portrayal of the Ferengi -- feral, greedy, ratlike, sexist, greedy. their movements and gestures and were very different, very primal.

THOSE Ferengi would have been a worth running antagonist.

it wasn't until a few seasons later that Ferengi stood with perfect posture, played chess, and drank tea. from then on, Ferengis were kind of a joke. =/

And here I was worried that I may have shown too much of my nerd knowledge.

Such a great DS9 episode.

the article i read said the creators of the ferengi were embarrassed by their original portrayal on tng. said that the ferengi were "redeemed" on DS9.

which, by the way, is the best Star Trek show.

i believe that they believe that. but my opinion is the exact opposite.

DS9 *domesticated* the Ferengi. i preferred the feral, unbound portrayals. :)

I prefer "departed from canon" to "only have one kind of enemy because that's all that was on screen". It's one of the many problems with licensed games, being unable to make up stuff to fill out the universe.

I'm personally more upset that its 2013 and we still don't have a single true star trek game besides Bride Commander. If I wanted to run around shooting things and blowing stuff up I'd play Gears of War or 1 of the other 1,000 shooting titles out there. I just hope someday we get a Star Trek game that is something... anything like the show. Explore, Discover, Find new things.
