So, the film crew hires a company to house the animals, and they kill or let some animals die, and you want the movie to do badly, possibly losing people their jobs right around Christmas? It's nice that there are people like you out there, blowing crap out of proportion.

If what Steve said is true and as soon as he heard about it he stopped using them, how is it "too late"?

I want to see The Hobbit, but not with a crowd.

no.

That was tragic, but I'm not sure how the production company could be expected to monitor a New Zealand farm that was more than 150 miles from where they were filming. Especially when you consider that American Humane Association monitors visited the farm and made recommendations that were actually implemented a year ago, but admit that even doing that went beyond their jurisdiction and authority.

Meth Panther says:
So you haven't read anything about it and you're jumping to the conclusion that the director and film crew knew about animal abuse based on presumptions you've made?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 11, 2012 7:45:03 AM PST
True, for the horses.

But that wasn't Jackson's fault.

Will buy the collection once it's out.

Expanding the movie to the unnecessary 3 count is not good imo. Just a money sham.

I knew that story would be about The Alamo Drafthouse! That place sounds cool.

I am very excited about the Hobbit. I hope the choice to go with three movies turns out to be a good thing. I'm interested to see how they do the whole Necromancer sub-plot.

Someone commented about it, on an article. That's what I recall reading. So this is a 2nd or 3rd hand source.

Well I wasn't planning on seeing it in theaters, but if PETA is going to take up this cause I may have to buy a ticket.

If PETA is taking up the cause, I'm bringing a busload of orphans with me, before they go back to the mines.

Soulshine says:
Those orphans will be getting a Christmas Miracle!

Then yes, back to the mines.

Or he could have done it because he genuinely cares about animals and doesn't want to do business with a shoddy firm.

:)

He's going to make millions anyway. And he wasn't responsible in the least for what happened. That would be like saying whenever a cop gets killed it's Obama's fault.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 11, 2012 7:55:08 AM PST
I just hope they don't start into "Hard Knock Life" again, the back of my hand gets so sore.

He's clearly a monster because none of the major donations listed went to saving horsies!

It is Obama's fault, I saw it on Fox News this morning.
