What's a fair garage sale price on an RRoD Xbox?

I have the black Xbox 360 Elite that I tried to trade in to Gamestop a while ago - but I made the mistake of telling them it had been repaired in the past so they didn't want it (even though it looks like the manufacturer's sticker is still intact). Gets a red ring at least half the time so I'm comfortable calling it broken. Everything's included - except I want to keep the hard drive.

Component cables/HDMI/power brick/controller/headset/cosole all packed in the box. My granny's having a garage sale today and tomorrow and I might bring it over - what's a reasonable asking price?

I'm thinking of sticking $40 on it and taking no less than $30. I'll add a note about what's included (no HDD) and that it needs a RRoD repair. Maybe I'll throw in a game and put $45. I don't know.

Looks like a lot of people on eBay are bidding between $25-$38 for RRoD 360s with varying size hard drives. $40 probably isn't too bad for a starting price.

Is there another Gamestop you can go to? Just don't tell them about the RROD this time.

Ok, someone explain to me what value a RROD 360 has. I thought it was basically bricked.

Yeah I thought about that. I think I'd get more, but it would be store credit. If I included the hard drive I think they'd give about $50 (but I really want to keep that). Plus the next closest one is at a mall 20 minutes away. Garage sale would just be less hassle.

If it is selling for 30-40 bucks on Ebay, a garage sale is usually a place to go for a bigger discount. Remember you will most likely be selling to soccer moms/dads who have little experience with gaming. If it is taking up space and you don't plan on selling it on Ebay then you should price it at around 20-30 bucks.

You can fix pretty much any of them if you are experienced I think.

It can be repaired, just not by me.

It originally broke outside of the 3-year warranty and I had it repaired locally (was cheaper than MS and didn't have to mail it). It was fixed for a while, but not anymore.

If it was me I would take a look on ebay at broken xbox 360 sales and look at an avg and then since its a garage sale maybe shaving off a few dollars. Keep in mind on ebay most likely those prices are just for the Console with no cables and accessories like you are selling.

I would sell it on ebay personally someone will buy it trust me on that but make sure you go find out dimensions if you plan to ship because that can and will screw you over if you do not know ahead of time so people can do it by zip code

I just got word that I already made $45 on the junk I brought over last night, so now I'm thinking I'll stick $35 on it but take $25 if someone wants to haggle.

You could hold on to it, box it up, and sell the parts a few years after the new Xbox releases. You'll probably make more money off it that way.
