Hmmm. Maybe I chose poorly.

This makes me sad.

Not at all. Your card is a pretty desirable piece of hardware. You are going to be set for a pretty good while .

What 7870 did you get?

I would say just always make sure PhysX is off.

I have a 6870 and I love it. They make great cards.

60 fps was cool on RAGE for consoles. You could see the tire tread on the vehicles super roll super smooth!

You're getting weaker. Your troll powers need recharging. Read a book or something to get ideas.

Texture pop-in in the outdoor environments was turrible, just turrible, though.

So, the continuation of my noobness:

I got Dark Souls, and did the 1080p mod and the 60 fps mod. Looks and plays fantastic.

However, I have been getting a wierd line that shows up when looking up and down, probably has to do with the 1080p mod. Anyone had a similar experience with this? What settings are you using in the .ini?

I set my resolution in the mod to 2560x1440 and it removed the line.

Does that mod have a vertical sync option?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 8, 2012 8:09:46 AM PST
I believe it does.

I believe so.

Interesting. My TV cannot do that though.

I run my in-game resolution at 1920x1080. I set the mod's superscaling to 2560x1440.

You can also run the game in 1280x720 with the 2560x1440 mod resolution. The mod resolution can be set higher than your actual screen resolution. It's just the rendering values. Higher values = higher definition on your textures.

So is the line like still like sync issue or like a microstutter?

Thats pretty much the artifact i had with Rage on the bum drivers, Sleeping Dogs out of windowed mode, etc..

I think the line he's referring to is due to the resolution being something other than native 1280x720. Setting the rendering resolution to 2560x1440 (double native) removed all my artifacts and lines. It could be the issue.

V-sync cleared up my issue when looking side-to-side due to screen tearing. I think he's having a different issue. I had an actual visible line going up and down on my screen when I used any iteration of 1920x1080.

Ooo. This I may try.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 8, 2012 8:28:01 AM PST
It is a horizontal line that only shows up when I pan up and down.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 8, 2012 8:33:54 AM PST
That may be screen tearing that requires Vsync, but try running it in one of the native resolution multiples first.

Ok sounds good. It definitely plays like a completely different game.

Cool Cool.

It is the same username on League of Legends if you play that too.

I am slowly transitioning myself to Steam. I need KoA, Witcher 2, Max Payne 3, etc. to complete my move over though...
