More than anything most of the music is techno/j-pop there's only 3 songs with lotus juice and while I really dislike rap I really love those songs

I haven't found a single techno song in the game yet.

Well persona 3 portable is also a pretty butchered port of persona 3, a majority of the cutscenes were removed and you're stuck with first person dungeons and no free movement on the world

Yeah, no. Persona 3 Portable is fantastic. Yes, the anime cut scenes are gone but everything else is there. It is much better than Persona 3 and almost as great as Persona 3 FES. With the addition of a female protagonist and new social links it is a must play for any Persona fan.

"first person dungeons"

WTF are you talking about, Tartarus is exactly the same as it is in the PS2 version.

I was about to ask the same question, maybe he is confused and talking about the first SMT on Super Famicom or something

Eh, I never play a female Protagonist if I have a choice so that means nothing to me.

Ok, you are either a sexist or just hate fun, either way, your loss.

Why is the female protagonist more fun than the male?

I'm not sexist, I just prefer to play Male Protagonists. How is that Sexist? Same with MMOs and another other game I get to chose, I prefer Male Characters.

My friend prefers to always play Female Protagonists if she has a choice, is she Sexist too?

Oskar2525 says:
It is not more fun, but it is a lot of to play them both to see how the game/dialogue changes.

I once was attacked on a message board just because I stated I would prefer not to play as the female MC. I just don't find a visual novel style game where I date high school boys very appealing, especially when I have a choice of a male MC with whom I could identify more.

If I understand what the game said at the beginning the Female Protagonist had some changes to the game, though since I've never played any Persona game before I wouldn't have known the difference.

I don't understand your logic.

I am Male, and Gay. I prefer to always play a Male character, big deal.

I'm using P3 as a test to see if I would like the series and whether to buy P4 or not. I do not have 200+ hours to dedicate to this.

"All I am saying is that it is fun to try them both. "

That may well be, but I still prefer to not play female characters in games when given a choice. It's rare that in an anime style game the females don't annoy me. So far none do in the game.

I stopped playing P3 FES about 18 hrs in (gotta play P2 first). But I remember my biggest fear was not being leveled enough by the new moon. Like how do you juggle social links and leveling in Tartatus. I got so nervous I looked up a guide for perfect social links - but I think it started to diminish my joy of the game.

But how are you supposed to juggle them if you can't stay in Tartare forever and get tired so quickly? And when do I study!? Lol

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 15, 2012 9:40:41 AM PST
What about the new moon? Is that special for some reason?

Oskar2525 says:
A couple night in Tartarus and you should be good to beat the boss. The mid-floor bosses are usually stronger than the full moon boss, so if you can beat them you are good.

And don't go for perfect on your first playthrough, that is just not fun.

StriderNeo15 says:
It's tough at first, but IIRC the deeper you get the longer you can stay in Tartarus before getting tired.

I would also plan ahead of time and go to sleep early the day before I want to go to Tartarus so my characters would last even longer.

There is always a limit to how far you can go before a full moon, and I'm fairly certain I hit it evertime, and at that point, the bosses were beatable.

Isn't the new moon when you have boss fights?
