The funny thing is that everyone who is playing or has played this game knows and remembers all the details of the game, so there's alot to talk about.

To me, it's the funnest game this gen. I remember the first time that I played through 1-1, every once in a while I had to find a safe place so that I could sit the controller down because the adrenaline was making me jittery. I'm playing through it again, because hearing about project dark.
Dang it, I just got to work and I'm already waiting to go home and log in again.

Not sure if posted yet but the best place to farm souls would be on 4-2 at the Adjudicator's stone. Going down the stairs and passing the vendor and you'll see Death controller several shadows. Just go straight at the end and let yourself fall from the top and kill Death. Gives you average of 18,000 to 22,000 souls in an instant. The best way would be in pure BWT which will give you 27,000 souls.

I never got that many souls from him, and I always just shot him with my lava bow from the top.

Orin35 says:
That's NG+ levels. And I would dare argue that the best place is actually 4-3. The mantas. In NG+, it's about 70-80k souls. Add ring of avarice and bwt, you should be reeling in 100k+ souls per run. It does take a little longer to run, but I have a feeling it's the best ratio. (Ugh, don't even bother asking about soul thirst there....)

@ Dave

I did just that. DS was the reason I pulled the trigger on the PS3.

lol, forgot to mention - once I get to the vendor, I cast Soul Thirst and equip the Avarice Ring. Soul Thirst maximizes your soul gaining like 75% more and then you have another 10% from Avarice Ring. To me this was easier cuz once I kill Death, I can just teleport back to Nexus with Evacuate and redo the whole thing. Basically I can get around 80,000 souls in just a minute run.

strider, try going straight at the farthest back and let yourself fall. When you fall, I would highly recommend that you land behind the podium because Death will shoot you with its soul beam and take about 3/4 of your life. When you actually land behind it, it acts as a shield and blocks Death's beam.

Sometimes Death will shoot you, sometimes it just stands there without knowing you.

well I never even got touched just shooting him from the very top, took 2-3 hits with the Lava bow.

Wow, I thought the method I'm doing would be popular but I'd check Youtube to see how other people do it. They mention it a lot in most Demon's Souls message boards but didn't actually see how they do it.

StriderNeo15 says:
They both work, In my method you still have to go down there to get his drops, but after getting 99 darkmoonstones, it was nice just being able to evacuate straight from the top haha.

A question: sometimes I get weapons that are already upgraded, like the Dragon Longsword +1 that DDustiNN refers to. I'm never given the option to get these upgraded when I visit the blacksmith. Can these weapons that already come with "+" get upgraded?

StriderNeo15 says:
yes up to +5.

there are two blacksmiths in the game, the first blacksmith in the nexus can only upgrade weapons on the basic paths, to upgrade weapons on other paths you need to go to blacksmith ED in 2-1.

and of course, every upgrade path requires specific materials. You need dragonstone to upgrade the dragon longsword.

just to clarify, sharp and hardstone upgrade paths go up to +10, the advanced paths go to +5.

The best soul farming spot is killing the BP black/gold skellies when you're farming for pure blade stones.

What do you guys think IS the best weapon in the game?

For me it would be the Northern Regalia.

It's hard to swing but very light to handle. Also increases damage on both pure WWT and BWT.

I use Blueblood sword.

My NR is way more powerful but I feel cheap using it, so I dont.

its been awhile since I played but I think you teleport to 4-3 and back track through the cave with the slugs, kill the reaper in the cave and right when you come out of the cave, you should see the back of a BP black skellie. After you kill him, there will be 2 BP gold skellie on the cliffside. Of course this is all done in PB WT, and I think it nets you 300k+ souls or more. Also, use soul suck spell to kill the skellies in one hit from the back just make sure you don't get too close.
