Pretty funny video asking people to put up a sign proclaiming that they are against guns and do not own any guns.

http://www.youtube.com/embed/wt1Zy_ASNyA

Would you put up a sign saying "Citizens Against Senseless Violence. This home is proudly gun free."

D_Strasse says:
Some people don't think.

Might as well put up a sign saying. "Howdy neighbor. We be victims".

FOGE says:
Thats the point of the vid. They are saying it would be no different than banning guns outright.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 16, 2013 6:47:22 AM PST
Hell no. Why would I want to place a "Please rob this home, we cannot defend ourselves" sign in front of my home?

That's what I get for having no Youtube access at work, lol.

Oh man, the responses are as good as the original idea. What a hilarious thread!

Soulshine says:
That's kind of funny. I should put up a sign - "Beware of Dog, He Loves Everyone".

Or "Key is under the mat, cookies above the microwave. We'll be home at 5."

Punk! says:
I think I'll put up one of these signs and buy a really mean dog, then when I'm immediately robbed by thousands of burglars (as I can tell would happen from this hilarious thread) they'll have a huge and fun surprise waiting for them!

D_Strasse says:
Or,

"We appreciate you not robbing us while we're on vacation."

The video was pretty entertaining to watch.

Depending on your definition of "love" that might actually work.

I would modify the sign to read:

"Citizens Against Senseless Violence. This home is proudly gun free. We have a nail-studded baseball bat, though. And a big arsed taser"

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 16, 2013 6:54:32 AM PST
That's like bringing a knife to a gunfight. It only works in the movies.

I like the "Citizens Against Senseless Violence" part. I don't know about the rest.

Say what you will, at least they have the courage of their convictions (the hypothetical people who would put this sign up). I'd like to see Christians with a sign saying "will turn other cheek" or "free shirts; act now, and we'll throw in a coat".

and then you'd get sued by the criminal because your dog was mean and bit him/her ;)

FOGE says:
Thats what a lot of the responses in the vid were.

They arent being courageous of their convictions. They are being facetious to see if the anti gun people would be that courageous. None in the vid backed up their convictions with action.

Is that Piers Morgan's house?

Oh wait, no...that's right. He has armed guards...with assault weapons at his house.

klopas says:
I understand the point of all this, but why would anybody put that sign up when guns are still legal? If it were illegal to possess a personal firearm, I'm sure that many more people would be okay with a stupid sign like that. Then again, a sign wouldn't be necessary because guns would be banned and we could all assume that every home was gun free.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 16, 2013 7:19:22 AM PST
FOGE says:
So.... if guns were illegal on a nation wide level, would you put up a sign that said that?

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 16, 2013 7:22:26 AM PST
klopas says:
I'm pro-private gun ownership, so no I wouldn't. However, I understand why people wouldn't do so now since private gun ownership is legal and it would be an open invitation to get ransacked.

If I were against private gun ownership and guns were illegal, then there wouldn't be a need to have a sign since we can all assume that every house is gun free.
