Samsung UN46EH6000 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV (Black) (2012 Model) - $648

Not the smart TV, but it's the same thing but ~200 less. The only thing holding me back is only 2HDMI hookups and it's not the 'slim' version.

Samsung UN46ES6100 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz Slim LED HDTV (Black) (2012 Model)

Here's pretty much the same TV but it has 3HDMI slots, slim series, built in wifi, and it's the 'Smart' TVs. - $797

Samsung UN46ES6003 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz Slim LED HDTV (Black) (2012 Model) - $698

This is the same as the first one except it's the slim version. This one apparently just came out.

I like it. Are you offering to buy me one? I don't mind the 2 HDMI hookups, so I'll take it!!

JJ4prez says:
I put the third one (UN46ES6003) in my wishlist. Probably getting it next week, I want to wait after the crazy shopping days.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 21, 2012 5:47:53 AM PST
I've had no problems with the Samsung I bought last year. Enjoy!

Prankster says:
Go for the third one. Looks like a good deal and Samsung's TVs are pretty awesome. I haven't had a single complaint with mine in the last 3 years. Plus 2 HDMI slots isn't really that much of an issue.

JJ4prez says:
Yeah, 3rd one is in my wishlist now. Should be that price for quite awhile, at least until after Christmas. Will buy it probably in the next 2 weeks.

WesCyde says:
Whats the difference between the first and third one besides it has reviews and is $50 less?

A customer says:
Is it solid state? Then it sucks. Get a tube TV.

I jest. "Only" 2 HDMI hookups? That's it? I'm so sorry you
"only" have at least three components that support HD output.

I jest. I personally like Toshiba over Samsung, but that's actually a bit cheaper than my 42" was. Go for it. I wouldn't skimp on the sound system, though. I've never heard a TV with a built-in amp that can compete with a stereo system.

I traded my Samsung LED in for a plasma. I just don't like LED, the motion blur gets to me. I can't stand 120 or 240 hz mode either. Just my 2 cents, but I think Samsung and Panasonic plasma offers not only a better picture but a cheaper price.

$699 at Amazon, 4 more inches.

It's not a true gaming rig until you have to be lowered into it via a crane like Neil Peart's kit.

JJ4prez says:
Yup, have the P50U50 in my wishlist too. Was going back between the Samsung LED listed above and this one for quite awhile. Can't make up my mind. I have had both Plasma's and LED's, I like them both. Both have their purposes, it really comes down to the misc details you would want.

The Plasma I am actually replacing is my 6 year old Panasonic 42" 600hz 1080p TV. Giving it to my sister.

The only way I'd personally go LED is if my room had a bunch of bright light. LED does wonderful with bright lighting, otherwise I love the deep blacks and smooth motion of plasma. I especially love plasma with videogames. Good luck with your decision. :)

JJ4prez says:
Thanks, both will output an amazing picture upon proper customizing.

I had the plasma for a long time, the reflection really did get in the way a lot. My LED in the other room is great. I have multiple modes for it. 1 to watch sports, 1 to watch movies, 1 for my PC, and 1 for my gaming for consoles. Sports has the true motion activated, the rest don't.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 21, 2012 9:33:49 AM PST
Lucanus says:
I think one of the reasons I love plasma is my game room has no windows, it is pitch black. Zero reflection issues. I have a second plasma in the living room, it does pretty well, though with kids I don't do much mid day anyway. Heck most of the time something Disney/Pixar is running.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 21, 2012 9:36:21 AM PST
JJ4prez says:
Yeah, LED has some customizing that Plasma doesn't. But Plasma's are very straightforward in setup. My Toshiba Quattron LED puts out a better image than my Panasonic imo. But it could be due to the Panasonic not being setup properly like the Toshiba was.

Again though, it all comes down to preference and what you want.

A customer says:
LED's have a longer radioactive half-life than plasma; they're a better investment because they last longer.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 21, 2012 9:47:10 AM PST
JJ4prez says:
And they are cheaper, but I mean...9 dollars a year vs 32 dollars. Not a big deal though.

I am swaying towards the LED route because of a few reasons,
- Back light and brightness customizing
- True Motion for sports
- Weight, LED is considerably lighter
- No burn in
- No reflection (mine will be in facing a window)

I'd love to have my LED set up specifically for my games, but I ain't paying someone to do it.

Not true anymore. :)

On a side note JJ, I am surprised you like the True Motion for sports. I spent a week fishing with my father in law, we watched some football on his LED with True Motion on, I couldn't stand it. I much prefer plasma. But to each their own. The weight thing can be annoying, my plasma is over 140 lbs.

What a coincidence... I just bought the second model you looked at and I'm getting it delivered on Saturday. So basically I can't give you a review yet but if you haven't made up your mind in a couple of days, then I'll let you know my impressions. :)
