This is optional, right? If people don't buy them, they'll have to lower the prices. We all know people are going to buy that crap anyhow.

So luxurious.

Chris94 says:
Optional yes. But there's no way they will lower the prices.
And I already know a ton of people are gonna buy every weapon skin to make them selves feel cool.

People that buy weapon skins have issues to begin with, so might as well take advantage of these boners while you can.

Voice of god says:
It was the same deal with Gears 3. Whatever. If you don't want them, don't buy them. If you only want some, then only buy some. If you have some weird compulsion to buy absolutely every bit of DLC that comes down the pike, then you deserve to pay a $50 stupid tax.

Do they add a tactical advantage to a player?

Naw. If you play MP in a game enough, it definitely might be worth it to pay a couple of bucks for a skin/camo that you really like. However, if you buy every single skin/camo this game has to offer... then yeah, you are a lunatic.

on July of 2012, the Lancer collection was on sale for 600 msp in Gears 3.

Didn't the Gears 3 skins go on sale?

Posted on Mar 19, 2013 7:06:39 AM PDT
Lol this happen 2 years ago with gears 3.
Completely optional. And that's if you want everything ; i don't know anyone who would buy the whole pack though.

Cyberphobia says:
Sigh. I started waxing nostalgic for the days when this stuff were free unlockables included with the game. The fact that skins are "optional" and people should "vote with their money" is not going to change publishers business models, and that's just sad. They'll keep inventing new ways to squeeze every dollar out of their consumers that they can, because they know enough suckers will fork over the money. Why provide anything extra for free when someone will pay for it, and probably at 99% profit.

I know it was on gears 3, I bought a few skins my self, but it wasn't 4000msp....I think it was 1600 or something for all of them.

There's something kind of funny about guys who play fighting games and the like obsessing over their outfits.

JO MOMMA says:
i think for the full collection was 4000 msp but that included all the skins for 5 weapons.

Carlito says:
So what if they buy them? It's their money, not yours, shouldn't be a huge concern of yours whether they buy it or not.

This whole 'gamer rage over something they will never buy' is getting so old.

oh and i like to buy the Pink ones. I think its fun killing with a jacked up meat head using a pink lancer.

"Getting" old? Methinks it's always been old.

I have no argument there, it has always been old, hasn't it?

OK so then epic games are obviously offering a product that there is a market for. Why do you even care?

I can't believe people pay for stuff like this. Will never understand the paying for virtual items. More levels and maps that I can play on....sure. Something completely cosmetic? No way.

But then's their money to do with as they please.

eh I use bing points to buy some individually, no big deal, I like unlockable skins not ones that anybody can buy, yea the gears stuff goes on sale but it will be awhile

It's a stupid tax. It only hurts the stupid.

Check out the Korean MMOs. Those South Koreans LOVE to pimp out their characters and will spend thousands to do so.

Optional* skins.

Some people become attached to their characters online and enjoy making them stand out from the rest. Obviously there is a market for this sort of thing which is why Epic has capitalized on it.

I never really understood this until I started playing a crapton of LoL. I've spent money a few times now and purchased skins. It doesn't bother me at all considering the amount of time I invest into that game.
