When I went to the coffee shop this morning there were two young women ahead of me talking about Thanksgiving. One said she bought a dress and she was going to wear it tomorrow and then return it.

That doesn't seem right to me. I can see returning an item if it's a problem but getting to use it for free and sticking the store with a used dress is scummy to me. What does the VGF think?

I think many around here use what they call the "GameStop rental" to do just this.

No, those are already preowned games. I think that Jason is talking specifically about new products.

It's pretty messed up to buy clothes with the intent of returning them. What if this lady goes commando and gets the dress all vagged up, huh? Not cool.

Speaking of which, did you ever see the bottom part of a woman's bikini? They have some kind of anti-microbial patch on there so that no vag gunk gets on it. I nearly threw up when I saw that for the first time.

Do we know for sure that this dress is new though? Maybe it was already rented for a wedding or something.

Ah, maybe. I just figured he meant anything considering the title of the thread.

When I worked retail I loved sticking a restocking fee on people who did that. We had one customer who was infamous for it and always argued the restocking fee. But low and behold, every time a birthday or other special event would roll around he'd buy a camera, use it for a day, then return it.

Women are strange and will only wear clothes once before tossing them so that is a way for them to have the newest fashionable clothing without having to pay for it. I would agree that it is scummy of them to do.

You should have told the woman at the cash register to watch out for that woman because she will just try returning her coffee after she drinks half of it to get something different. Make sure the woman is in ear shot as well.

I think the conclusion here is that women are dirrrty.

Indeed I have. I remember being told that women are more cultured than men when I was a youngster, didn't think it was about bacteria though.

My brothers works in Costco and he tells me some stories of the skummiest people returning food, in which say 2 out of 3 of the steaks are already eaten. Or people buying food for a BBQ, it rains, and they return food. Costco's retunr policy is great and terrible all at once.

You could have just bought a used copy and swapped discs then returned it. At least then it would be a little more noble as Gamestop makes a crazy high margin on their used games to begin with.

Isn't that the same plan your son came up with that you tried to persuade him was wrong?

Nordstrom has a great return policy, they take anything back no matter the condition as long as you can prove you bought it from there.
